Our stay at Haria Hotel was wonderful. We are always on the hunt for a quality budget hotel/hostel, and as far as we are concerned, this place ticks all the boxes, and it great for many different types of travellers. ||Firstly, it's a not-for-profit, with 100% of the profits going to community projects in a poor area of Moshi; it's in a central location (close to transport, food, drink and supermarkets); has an awesome chill space with a great vibe (a rooftop bar/cafe with good prices, yummy local & western food, and great chill music); has free wifi; the rooms are clean and cool, have good, new fans and comfy beds; and best of all, the staff are fantastic. We loved hanging out with them - laughing, dancing, singing. They are so welcoming, and the level of English is awesome (and they are more than happy to teach a few words of Swahili too!). Read moreI cannot express my thanks enough to Haria Hotel. I stayed 9 days and my visit was nothing but suburb. The first two nights I had a double private suite, the last seven I had a single private with shared bathroom. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. I always felt safe, wifi worked in both rooms. The shared bathroom was always clean and you have a key to lock and unlock the door. My showers were hot to moderately warm, and towels are provided. Upstairs at Haria there is a large roof top where you can use wifi, eat, enjoy coffee or tea, view Kilimanjaro, relax and meet other travelers. The location is perfect for shopping, visiting Union cafe, sampling authentic foods, and close to the bus station. I would highly recommend Haria hotel to any and all travelers. I felt at home...
Read moreAs recommended by the lonely planet guide, this is a great place to stay, wether you're here for a single night before or after a Kilimanjaro climb or for multiple days. The staff is really friendly and will go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and make sure you have anything you need. We liked it so much we came back after our trek. The rooftop terrace serves a range of breakfast, lunch and dinner with daily specials at reasonable prices. Ideal after a Kilimanjaro climb, you don't have to leave the hotel to get good food. The hotel is also locally engaged and the proceedings go to local projects from Team Vista. So it's good to know that you are contributing to the community. In all I would definitely recommend this place, and would (and did!)...
