ROØT Café by หม่องโง่ยซิ่น — Restaurant in เทศบาลนครลำปาง

There is a cafe' encapsulated in the Moung Ngwe Zin historical quarter in Kad Kong Ta walking street, Lampang. The building architecture was constructed in Ginger Bread style blended with the 19th century Burmese's influences . This building was presumably built in 1908. Moung Ngwe Zin, the owner of the building, was the son of a rich teak merchant. Apart from the charming of the building architecture, this building was once the Japanese quarter during the Pacific War. The remaining hard evidence is the underground bunker which the buker's entrance is located in the ground floor at the middle of the building. Best known of being one of the most antique building in Lamphang. The details of the building is beautiful and unique, made form wood and still quite in great condition for its age.

Inside: large room decorated with wooden furnitures and old pictures presenting the old town and old time comparing to present.

There are also ceramics, tea pot, tea set, hand crafts, silk, clothes inside. I get cute key chains here and also a uniquely crafted skirt, a shirt.

Drinks and beverage: mostly tea beverage and toasted breads. I am not sure if there are some food. The price range 45-100...

หม่องโง่ยซิ่น ตั้งอยู่ภายในบริเวณกาดกองต้าซึ่งเป็นตลาดโบราณใน อำเภอเมือง จังหวัดลำปาง สร้างราวปี พ.ศ. 2451 เพื่อเป็นบ้านพักอาศัย เจ้าของคือหม่องโง่ยซิ่นชาวพม่า บุตรชายหม่องส่วยอัตถ์ หัวหน้างานคนแรกของบริษัททำไม้ในลำปาง ต้นตระกูลสุวรรณอัตถ์ผู้ทำกิจการค้าไม้ ร้านหม่องโง่ยซิ่นเป็นเรือนขนมปังขิงสองชั้นครึ่งหลังคาทรงมะนิลา ก่อสร้างในลักษณะครึ่งปูนครึ่งไม้ ห้องบนสุดคือห้องพระประดับด้วยกระจกสี มีลวดลายไม้ฉลุที่สวยงามทาสีขาวเป็นลายต่างๆ อย่าง เถาไม้เลื้อย ลายก้านขด ลายประดิษฐ์ ลายสัตว์และลายสัญลักษณ์ที่หน้าจั่ว ไม้ฉลุประดับตกแต่งแทบทุกส่วนของอาคาร ฝ้าเพดานบุด้วยแผ่นดีบุกดุนลายแบบวัดพม่า ซุ้มโค้งเหนือประตูด้านในประดับกระจกสี ผู้สร้างคือช่างพม่า ปัจจุบันเป็นที่พักอาศัยแต่มีการใช้ประโยชน์เพียงบางส่วนเท่านั้น เนื่องจากสภาพโดยทั่วไปของอาคารค่อนข้างเก่า และไม่ได้มีการปรับปรุงเปลี่ยนแปลงส่วนใด อาคารหลังนี้ได้รับรางวัลสถาปัตยกรรมดีเด่น ประจำปีพ.ศ. 2550 ประเภทอาคารอนุรักษ์สถาปัตยกรรมล้านนา จากกรรมาธิการล้านนา สมาคมสถาปนิกสยาม...
