As a first time visitor, I wasnt sure what to order. The helpful waitress pointed to the placemat which shows "Sanaan's Guaranteed Dishes".
2 of the 3 guaranteed dishes we ordered were great. We loved the "fried river prawns in salt" which was fresh, tasty, and perfectly cooked. "Deep fried crab meat in soya paper" was really good too, especially when you eat it piping hot with a touch of the accompanying sauce. "Fried oysters with omelette" was tasty and loaded with alot of oysters, but could have been stir fried longer for a better texture and colour.
Another dish we tried include the "Stir-fried flat noodles (horfun) with beef", which was excellent. It has the legendary wok-hei which gives the noodles a searing cast iron fragrance.
Desserts were surprisingly good. "Coconut ice cream" was fragrant and delicious, and "Choux Cream" was rich woth a generous amount of fillings.
The seafood dishes here are priced on the high side, bit the other dishes are reasonably priced.
Overall, a good restaurant to try if you are...

I ordered a few dishes and here’s my verdict solely on those that I ordered.
4/5 for the curry crab. It’s delicious and flavourful with a hint of curry and comes with some rice noodle. Gave it 4 out of 5 because somboon’s crab blew me away a day ago and I had Here Fai crab fried rice that was a bit underwhelming. This dish slots in the middle. Overall it’s really good and you should order if you are there.
5/5 oyster omelette. It’s more liquid than those we had in either Malaysia or Hong Kong but it has good flavour to it.
4/5 for the satay. It is well seasoned but would be better if it had some chicken skin. 5/5 for the peanut sauce with bread that comes with the satay.
3/5 stir fried beef and hor fun. It’s a bit too starchy but overall it’s...
Read moreOverpriced and inedible! I ordered the fermented female sea crab (750 baht!) and I could not eat it. The crab was obviously hastily thawed minutes before, because it was still completely frozen when the dish arrived. I asked the waiter if it was meant to be frozen and he said it was. After I showed him how frozen it was by tapping my fork on the crab meat, he tried as well and made a surprised noise. He then went to get the manager/owner who came over and told me that if I waited a few minutes for it to thaw I should be able to enjoy it. Well I waited almost thirty minutes and it was still completely frozen. My two videos are from the first and second time (half an hour later) I tried to eat the dish. The restaurant would have gotten zero stars from me, but it gets a few points for the AC and clean facilities. Do not waste...
