Madang Korea Restaurant(Star Avenue) — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

I only give this star to the hygiene of the restaurant. There are problems with the dishes and service. Controlling costs is not an excuse for poor dishes and poor service. If you have eaten or want to eat authentic Korean barbecue, it is not recommended. If you are a Thai, you can try it, because it is modified according to Thai barbecue. The side dishes are not rich in configuration, and the most important thing is that they cannot be matched with barbecue reasonably, which can not solve the greasiness of barbecue. The variety of vegetables is single, lacking soul vegetables garlic, onions and peppers. Although there are roasted garlic and onions, the taste is really bad. It cannot be eaten alone, and it is not suitable for eating with barbecue. There is no charcoal barbecue, the barbecue heat control is poor, the taste is poor, and it tastes very dry. Good marinated meat was wasted. The desserts promised to be provided were not provided until we checked out. There are big loopholes in the service. The service staff is just looking very busy, but it is actually caused by inadequate management and training. The meal was very unpleasant this time, because I didn't eat...

Food 10/10 Bibimbap, fried gyoza & omelette. The omelette was a little boring but it was a side and it was exactly what it should be based on the cuisine, I just might skip it next time - but the bibimbap was delightful and the perfect blend of flavourful with a slight kick.

Drinks 10/10 Soda and beer, hard to make a mistake.

Service 11/10 Super quick compared to expectations in Thailand and taking friendliness to a whole new level. You can ask them for anything and they will help make it perfect for you.

Location & Atmosphere 7/10 Outside Chiang Mai so if you are staying in the suburbs then it’s fine but otherwise there is nothing around this area to explore so it’s a trip just for the food.

1,130 THB for 3 meals, 2 sides...

They move upstairs! The other day we were craving for Korean food but couldn’t find it.. so we stopped at the other restaurant near by instead.. today we finally found the sign saying that the shop had moved to upstairs.

We ordered 2 sets of marinated pork parts to grill.. also order a Korean sushi. Overall I like this place more than the other place we visited last week but I like our old Korean restaurant jinmie a lot better but they permanently closed for some reason!

I really missed their godgiven kimchi..! Aside from jinmie’s.. the kimchi is just bearable..

Anywho, the whole meal with the barley tea (for 20 baht a plastic bottle—1.5 litre maybe) is roughly 1000 baht for two..
