I recently tried Samsen Villa in Chiang Mai, having been to the one in Bangkok before, and I loved it! It's a great restaurant right by the river, creating a relaxing atmosphere. The food is excellent across the board, and while the prices are a bit on the high side, you can count on the quality. Their green curry, signature fried egg, and spicy paste with fish are all tasty. A unique highlight is their frozen beer, which they claim to be the first in Thailand. They freeze the beer glass and serve the beer from the freezer, giving it a slightly frozen and super cool texture. Apart from that, they also have a huge parking lot with both indoor and outdoor seating areas, making it a great spot for any occasion.

Seems like a fancy place locals like to dine at. They have a variety of foods such as steaks and european salads and such. They even had a kids menu that looked pretty interesting. I was told they had good panang so I tried the pork panang. It was pretty good. They had a few pages of cocktails in the back. Lots of options for whatever you’re in the mood for. It’s right by the river with indoor and outdoor seating next to the water. They’re pretty busy so you’ll probably get seated where-ever is available. Has an upscale and romantic vibe. Lots of couples, groups of friends and families. There’s a parking lot as well.

***** MasterPeach Star ***** This 3 decades restaurant will never turn you down. They have a lot of Traditional Thai Menus worth trying before you die. The Grilled pork (Moo Sa Tay) menu is a MUST. The curry and coconut taste from the tender pork make it second to none. The squid in the lemon soup is very hot and spicy. Ask them to put less chili otherwise your mouth will be exploded. The Volcano Fish imported from Japan is another recommendation. My little drawback is the custard bread which is too sweet for me. Make a reservation is required especially during the high season.

Totally unexpected how good the food was. We order about different dishes and every one was excellent. However standout winner was the seafood in the coconut shell. Halmok talay is believe how it is pronounced.. definitely the best restaurant I've visited in Chiang Mai. You can dress casule or upscale. The Riverside Ambience was nice and the service was good. The open air seating and Covid protocols were followed and I was once again impressed with another Chiang Mai eatery that I didn't expect for such a small city. Definitely coming back.

Excellent Thai food with authentic taste! My family had a set of famous dishes for 1499 thb for lunch. There are 7 dishes of them with big portions for 4 of us to finish all of them. The mixed vegetables soup with shrimp paste is as authentic as what we have in Bangkok! The taste of foods is absolutely authentic Thai. The satay is also our favorite taste with fully seasoned meat. No place in Chiangmai can beat them for the authentic Thai dishes! I would like to try the knuckle fried with the but maybe next time!

Service was excellent even though place was crowded. Food was above average but I've had better from the night markets or local restaurants. Value-wise I'd probably stick with smaller local thai restaurants. Ordered about 7-8 dishes and 2 drinks which came out to about 1500 baht ($60 Canadian) which feeds 2-3 people. It's also spicy AF. I'm usually good with spicy foods but some of the dishes had my mouth on fire. Almost every dish was spicy so it kind of started to taste the same after a while lol
