A Hidden Gem by the River – A Perfect Evening Experience
This beautiful riverside restaurant truly exceeded our expectations in every way. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the charming atmosphere and attention to detail. Nestled right by the water, the setting is nothing short of idyllic — especially in the evening, when the outdoor area is gently illuminated and the reflections on the river create a magical ambiance.
Both the interior and exterior spaces are thoughtfully designed, offering comfort and elegance whether you choose to dine indoors or out. The terrace is particularly stunning at night, perfect for a romantic dinner or a relaxed evening with friends.
The food was absolutely outstanding. Every dish was prepared with clear attention to quality and flavor, showcasing fresh ingredients and a refined touch. It’s rare to find such consistency in both presentation and taste — this place delivers on both fronts.
What truly set the experience apart, however, was the warm and welcoming team. The staff was exceptionally friendly, professional, and attentive without ever being intrusive. You can feel that they genuinely care about their guests’ experience, and it made a lasting impression.
One highlight not to miss: the foamed beer. It’s a unique specialty of the house and adds an unexpectedly delightful twist to the usual beverage experience — creamy, smooth, and perfectly chilled. Definitely something to try, even if you’re not typically a beer drinker.
In short, this restaurant is a rare find — a perfect combination of stunning location, excellent cuisine, and outstanding service. We’re already looking forward to...
Read moreWe made reservations at this restaurant because of the reviews and expectation for a pleasant night out. We had just the opposite at Samsen Villa. We went early on a Friday night with only a few diners there. From the git-go it was bad. First, we were seated at a table that wobbled badly. After being ignored for about 10 minutes we were able to get moved to another table and get our drinks and apps ordered. The salad and app came out and it was fine. Eventually, we got something to drink. One of the three main dishes made it to the table in pretty good time but we waited at least 30 minutes for the other courses and eventually gave up. Everyone around us was chowing down and our waiter was pretty busy serving everyone else but us. We should have cancelled right there but ended up requesting the courses to go. They came out cold. I didn't want to embarrass my Thai partner but any other restaurant and no way would I have paid for this mediocre food and worst service I have ever seen in a Thai restaurant. I read another review and I would say it was the same problem. That is, this restaurant caters to larger groups and pretty much ignores individual diners. I never write a review but this was too egregious to ignore.. Don't go to Samsen Villa if you are looking for good...
Read moremixed feelings bout this place, grudging 4 star; this place is setup for well-heeled customers; almost opulent in some places; the location is on the ping river, some tables, patio-style, are nearer the river, others a few steps up insidey; servers are all well dressed and the place screams of western management influence; their target is high ((years ago i went with a friend to assess the penthouse suite in this high rise, furnished, gloomy, 32000/month (15 years ago); so their clientele, specifically in the high rise has money; the 3 level rest area is nice, quiet, trees, river, the menu is also Mostly well-heeled; with a very odd exception: satay , and, get this, they said it was their signature dish ! ok so we order that and a few other entrees; i must say, the food was ordinary ; i was quite shocked; in fairness, for their obvious target clientele , the prices were nutso; still, i left...
