We ordered chips and salsa, a black bean and cheese quesadilla dish, a soft taco plate of carnitas/bacon/avocado, and a San Diego Carne Asada Burrito with fries. Two minor negatives, far outweighed by great food and a pleasant environment - and outstanding service: First, the San Diego Burrito said "with fries" and no fries were served! Second, as with so many businesses in Thailand, you must park on the street - a busy street. Not a problem from the standpoint of finding parking, as you can park in front. Just be careful opening driver-side doors. Now, about those fries...
The serving of chips is a little modest, but every thing else is a LOT of food. Five soft carnitas tacos, with rice, black beans, a few chips on the plate, and a garnish of what I think is jicima and pineapple (didn't verify if it was pineapple - it was yellow... I did munch away on (what I believed to be) jicima though. There are three hot sauces and some Pico de Gallo. One of the hotel sauces tasted close to a great tomatillo, corrupted by some kind of chile. As a New Mexican Chile Snob, I will admit "corrupted" leads the prospective guest off in the wrong direction. It was so delicious that I was tempted to pour it in a glass and drink it. Like a green tomatillo sauce with a horseshoe in it. I loved it, but the others thought it very hot. Now for the San Diego carne asada burrito... it is a big burrito try eating that AND fries and you'll have to spend the night at the restaraunt... an exaggeration, but it is going the same direction as the legendary 72 ounce steak in Amarillo Texas. OK, nowhere near that big, but you're not finishing it in one sitting without one of the following: A. Metabolism of a shrew; B. 17-23 year old young man who didn't eat all day, or C., A really giant man. I am 189 cm and 103 kg and trim. I only ate half - the smaller half, 1 Quesadilla, 1 carnitas soft taco. No rice, no beans, a few chips, and some - yep, guessing - jicima. What can I say. It was still less than the other half of that burrito. The carnitas with bacon and avocado is a combination so delicious that all I can say is, it makes you wish you had two stomachs. The chips were served fresh and hot, and would have benefitted from a couple of tossings to rid them of a little excess oil, and a shake or two of salt. They came with a delicious and mild guacamole, a Pico deGallo, and a mild red hot sauces, a medium-hot red sauce. All good, tasty; balanced recipes that are not overpowered by their individual ingredients. What can I say, I think you could pick it up and transplant the restaurant back to California, substitute some local ingredients, and this restaurant would have plenty of business.
I am hard-pressed to think you'll do better than this for Mexican food in Chiang Mai. Maybe in Thailand. Maybe in Asia.
Me? I have eaten plenty of Mexican (in Mexico, SoCal, Arizona) and (USA) New Mexican food. I love a bowl of Hatch green chile stew, or green chile with pork and beans, hotter than hell or Christmas-style (red and green). I know good Mexican food. This is a very good place to eat, service is outstanding, food is delicious. All of the food (+ water, smoothie) came in just under 1,200 THB. We took 1/2 of it home. In that regard, it is more like two (2)...

Food review:
Carnitas with guacamole, salsa, rice , beans and 3 x sauces on a tortilla. Mind blowing !!! The carnitas was crispy on the outside, tender and moist on the insides. This was one of the best taco’s I’ve had, surpassing my visits to Mexico and California.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Australian Sirloin steak with stringy fries: cooked to a perfect medium rare on top of their special sauce. Best tender and juicy steak I’ve had in Thailand . Stringy fries was sooooo addicting . The salad with jicama and cranberries was also a delight ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Carnitas with bacon guacamole: just like the above , but you get more smokiness from the bacon .
BBQ ribs: very good and tender , but not extraordinary. I was expecting more smoke and burnt edges on the ribs.
70% Belgium brownies with homemade ice cream. Simple, rich and sooooo desirable .
Mango passions fruit shake with no sugar: fresh and refreshing
Dessert: Margarita pie: lime flavor. Subtle, but not sour. Cleanse the palate, while still desiring for more. Homemade berry, chocolate crackle ice cream: an orchestra of flavors performing in your mouth.
The Chef deserves a Michelin star. Who wouldve thought I’ll have the best Mexican meal in Thailand. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I praise the staff for their patience and professionalism , when dealing with an obnoxious Asian American entitled female that treated them poorly. No one should treat others in that manner. Shame on you.
This is a must visit restaurant for authentic Mexican cuisine.

Salsa kitchen made me feel like i was home as soon as i sat down. The vibe is perfectly executed from its dining rooms colors, to it’s plants, decor, and music.
but the FOOD. These we’re HANDS DOWN the best Carnitas tacos i’ve had since moving away from home. Exactly like the ones from the taquerias of my childhood. Whomever is responsible for the foos here, obviously knows a thing or 10 about Mexican food.
Honestly, these are the best tacos i’ve had in Thailand. Full stop.
This is the best mexican food I’ve had in Thailand THE END.
The flautas (taquitos) we’re perfectly crunchy and juicy (loved the addition of pickled pepper in the chicken stuffing. The rice and beans, slapped. The Margs had me feeling like i was right back in my element again.
As a Mexican-American this is 10000% where i recommend you go if you want authentic Mexican food in Chiang Mai.
