Had heard of this off the beaten track bar and music venue. So glad we managed to track it down. It is away from tourist ville and felt very very local and authentic. We were so warmly welcomed by the owner and his staff. Lovely live guitar music and local singers. Incredible ambience, felt like we'd stumbled onto a hidden, independent gem - which these days in the light of ultra commercialisation, mass marketing and globalisation, feels difficult to do. Felt like a throwback to discovering local gems when I first started travelling 20+ years ago. No Internet, no social media, no vanity checks for the gram etc... just good vibes, good drinks, great food, great ambience and no westerners lol. I almost don't want to tell you about it so that it keeps its lovely innocent spirit and doesn't become a victim of capitalism. However I do want to support local businesses hence the review. Read moreWe loved this place. Looking for somewhere open late, we stumbled in and took a seat close to the talented live musicians. They were great and we enjoyed listening to and watching them. We came around 9:00 and it was mostly empty. There was plenty of seating, both for small parties and for groups, and it was comfortable at night in the middle of August. There are fans but it's basically open-air.
The service was friendly. We ordered drinks and received a small bucket of purified ice as well. The food was fantastic and simple. The menu was massive and the English easy to understand. There were lots of pictures.
