During my one month in Chiangmai, I visited this place 3 times. The food tasted great. We got the following:
roast chicken: quality inconsistent. Sometimes on the dryer side, also the sizes are not consistent either. Still rate it a 4/5 Thai papaya salad: delicious! 5/5 Still don't know how we should tune the spice level. First time we asked for less spicy and it was not spicy at all. Second we went time we did not ask anything and it was a tad too spicy. Third time we asked for less spicy again and it once again was not spicy enough Steak: 5/5 Pork neck: 5/5 Yam with pork slices: 5/5
The service was.. wel it was oke. The staff was polite. You have to write down on a piece of paper what you want. However, they manage to forget part of our order the second and third time we went. When we asked to check if something is missing she said she would but never came back to us. So I recommend keeping a picture of what you ordered so you know exactly what is missing. Because if you do tell her exactly what you miss, they will bring it. Don't wait too long with calling them either. If you think they have forgotten something, just call them and tell them what you are missing. Don't wait for...
Read moreVery very "meh" of a place. So I love stopping by the random roadside bamboo shacks with a grill out front, most of the time they're serving classic Issan street eats which are grilled pork necks/filets, chicken thighs and all the assortments of papaya salads. I've stopped by hundreds of these places and really got a taste for what's good. While in Chiang Mai I had a craving for such food and found this location....boy what a disappointment! Food is a joke, not just the portion sizes as other reviewers point out, but the flavor of the som tom was lazy. Just some papaya and a sprinkle of fish sauce, possibly the worst I've ever tried. The ground pork salad was undercooked and equally as lazy. No ground rice or any flavorful ingredients, rendering it among the 3 worst I've ever had easily. The only thing halfway decent was the pork filet, and it should have been. Waited almost an hour for it to come out. Only upon leaving and reading the other reviews did I notice this place is famous for some reason...it definitely shouldn't be. Food is on the low end of average bordering terrible. Find elsewhere is my advice, as I am...
Read moreI recently had a delightful dining experience that left me pleasantly surprised. The variety of grilled meat options, including chicken and pork, were absolutely delicious and surpassed all expectations. Each bite was bursting with flavors, and the tenderness of both the chicken and pork was perfect, making it a truly enjoyable feast. The skilled preparation of the grilled dishes made the entire meal a memorable and satisfying one. The combination of succulent chicken and flavorful pork provided a delightful contrast that pleased my taste buds. However, I must admit that I had a bit of a mixed feeling about the Thai coffee. It tasted more like roasted tea, which was a bit unexpected for me. Despite this, it was just a minor flaw that didn't overshadow the overall wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. The mouthwatering grilled meat, be it chicken or pork, alone is worth the visit. So, don't miss the chance to dine at this restaurant during your time in Chiang Mai. It's a must-visit for...
