We had the pleasure of dining at Jaras restaurant recently for our wedding anniversary , and I must say, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. Every server and staff paid gentle attention to every detail. Warm smiles and excellent team players.
Dining at this Michelin-starred Thai restaurant was an extraordinary experience that transcended the ordinary and brought us into a world of vibrant flavors and exquisite craftsmanship. From the moment we entered, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, a perfect blend of elegance and authentic Thai charm.
Every dish presented to us was a masterpiece, meticulously crafted with a balance of flavors that danced on the palate. The use of fresh herbs and spices elevated traditional Thai dishes to new heights, with each bite revealing layers of complexity and depth. The signature dishes, in particular, were a revelation — combining the boldness of Thai cuisine with innovative techniques that paid homage to both tradition and creativity.
The service was equally impeccable, with staff who were not only knowledgeable about the menu but also genuinely passionate about sharing the rich culinary heritage of Thailand. Their attention to detail, from the precise presentation of each course to the thoughtful wine pairings, made us feel truly cared for throughout the entire evening.
A significant part of that was, a big huge thank you to our server, Cake, who provided impeccable service from start to finish. Her warm demeanor and genuine attentiveness made us feel truly welcomed. She anticipated our needs before we even had to ask and made thoughtful recommendations that added to our enjoyment. It's rare to find someone who brings such grace, professionalism, and kindness to their work. Cake made our evening memorable, and we left with not just full hearts but full smiles as well. I truly hope she gets the recognition she deserves for her outstanding service. Thank you, Cake, for making our experience at Jaras restaurant so special.

Read moreFrom the moment we entered the Jaras dining room we were treated like Thai royalty. The restaurant ambience is light, airy and calming (even in the evening). We chose to opt for the Tasting menu and I knew we were in for a treat.
We began the experience with a meet and greet with the Chef. Loved the open plan and see into kitchen. You can interact with the chefs directly over the pass. The restaurant ethos is sustainable farm to table and see this in the many home made pickle jars used by the kitchen and the information Rick our server for the evening provided us during the dining experience on where ingredients have been sourced on the island and which farm was much appreciated.
Drinks need no mention because they were great and I mean you expect them to be.
But the food was WOW, spectacular to say the least. Every dish coming out of that pass was well thought through. A tour of many Phuket local proteins and ingredients. A festival of typical thai flavours and delightful surprises. Absolutely the freshest of ingredients and reusing elements across multiple dishes that created a cohesion between 9 equally unique dishes.
Congratulations to the team for a wonderful menu. Thank you for the rock star treatment. We were even spoiled with a complimentary chocolate cake because we were celebrating a 15 year anniversary. At the end of our meal, the Chef even paid us a visit to ask for feedback which I thought was very respectful and of course we only has praises. Then the team even shared a couple of thank you bags to take home which contained full sized jars of their award winning local rice and sea salt. Amazing can’t wait to use them on some of my creations back home!
I would highly recommend the Jaras Tasting Experience on your next...
Read moreReally nice fine dining Thai restaurant that sources all their ingredients locally on Phuket where possible. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and checked up on you without being annoying.
We tried one of the non-chilli based coconut soups Tom Hka Kai Ma Kwaen as a starter which was rich and flavoursome. Onto our mains we tried the signature goat Massaman Pae. The spices were really toned down to what you would normally expect allowing the tender goat meat to shine. We got the Young Kale Razor Shell Nam Mun Hoi which was crisp and refreshing. I would have liked to have seen more vegetable forward main dishes and this seemed to be the only one.
My favourite of the evening was the charcoal grilled Pork Neck. It was a good modest serve for two, extremely moist and tender inside, the outside texture was charred nicely and sweet. It came with two dipping sauces which I felt were unnecessary as the base flavour was so good. I’d come again casually just to eat this with rice and a vegetable side if such a thing existed on the menu. We finished the meal with the house made Coconut Gelato. It was really tasty, maybe a tad too much coconut cream flavour, though it felt authentic.
Compared to more local options this restaurant is comparatively an expensive feed. Choosing modestly as above from the menu it was over 4,000 baht for two just for the food. I would return as special evening meal though because the dishes are obviously carefully prepared and it’s great to support the local provenance sourcing of their ingredients. Reading some of the other reviews the immaculately presented experience would have been impacted had there been screaming children inside (there weren't any). This is an adult restaurant and I would support any move to...
