CREDIT CARD SCAM! This restaurant ripped me off on my credit card. I never gave them authorization to charge in USD, their server did it and they charged me $27 extra because of that. See my photo, they checked a box which allowed them to mark the bill up 5.4% for USD conversion. I never checked that box but they admitted that it was their server who did it. I have the message they admitted to this mistake. I filed a chargeback and this restaurant had the nerve to dispute it and it was resolved in their favor. Food was just OK but the service is terrible and the owner has no dignity. They admitted that their server accidentally charged me in USD instead of Thai baht and did nothing to correct the incorrect charge. Don't eat here unless you want to get ripped off. I spent over $400 USD eating here and they have no courtesy or appreciation, look at their response.
EDIT Restaurant responded and here are the facts. My credit card has no PIN so there is no PIN verify possible and my wife could not have known my PIN even if the card had one which it does not. It is a credit card so there is never a situation when I need a PIN number unless I try to withdraw cash from it which has never happened and if there was a PIN number I surely would not know what it is. My wife never checked that box on the credit card receipt, that was done by the server. I just explained to my Thai wife this situation and she is so offended that you accuse her of lying and she's a very devout Buddhist who never lies. We called several times and you should have offered to do something and instead kept telling us to call the bank which we did but they could not assist. Your reputation is obviously not important to you because if it was you would have offered to call the bank and fix the situation yourselves. We spent a good amount of money at your restaurant and you should at least have some respect...
Read moreIsaan cuisine is known for being spicy, salty, and often fermented. It’s not subtle food and Zao embraces this head-on. We came here on a recommendation and not knowing what to expect.
We started with the grilled fermented fish, which was intensely salty at first bite. But when paired with raw onion, the saltiness surprisingly softened, possibly because the sharpness of the onion helped balance the funk. It’s not a beginner’s dish, but it’s interesting if you’re curious about their staples.
The Thai omelette was comfort food done right: mild enough to anchor the stronger dishes. The grilled pork ribs were one of the highlights, well-seasoned, tender, and satisfyingly charred.
The mango salad was fresh and tangy with good acidity. Unfortunately, the watermelon salad was a letdown. It felt overloaded.
Their dishes may not be for everyone. Expect serious heat, bold salt, and funk-forward flavors. If you’re into that, Zao delivers. If not, it might feel like too much all at once.
The ambience is lovely, it’s in one of the residential areas with a lovely...

I come here quite often and tend to bring people over for hang out, birthday dinner, or even a casual business dinner. It’s also my go to spot for bringing foreigner friends who love some spicy Thai food.
Their food was immaculate. I dont wish they change anything, it’s absolutely wonderful. The Thai flavours are super intense and not for a newbie. All the grilled and fried fish are a little too oily for my liking but other choices are always available.
Great selections of dessert and wine. The staffs are well spoken and can recommend great wines as well. They are always friendly and very welcoming.
Love their music choices here as well. Every time I come there would be at least one person or one occasion or someone shazaming the music.
The corner by the big mirror gets a little crowded and sometimes and the noise level is high there because it echos as well as the round table area. But other seats were easy for casual conversations.
Super easy to park as well! Love it here and will always...
