My friends and I went there with the objective of just eating cake because we heard they had great cake there. I was mesmerized with how the place is decorated. It gives it a fancy vintage ellevation. I really liked the chandeliers, the walls, the paintings and mirrors on the hallway between the ladies and men's bathrooms. The chairs and tables fit perfectly into the deco.
When we arrived a waiter escourted us to the waiting area as she prepared a table for 3. She than escorted us to our table and gave us the prettiest menus. We perused the food menu and decided to order dinner before dessert. I ordered the pad thai, my friend ordered the pad thai with crispy woutons and my other friend ordered garlic fried rice. The pad thai was appetizing. The fried rice on the other hand took long to arrive. It had no garlic on it and wasn't even fried. It was quite blend. I wouldn't recommend it.
For dessert I ordered a strawberry sorbet which was mouthwatering. The cherry crumble, however, was not as scrumptious as I expected. I could still taste the butter in the crumble and it was more salty than sweet. The cheries inside weren't very appetizing. The custurd lacked a little sugar but it was well made. The lemon cheesecake was flavorsome but the blueberry cheesecake lacked character. The cheesecake tasted a bit like overbeaten cream.
Would I recommend this place? That is a big yes. Their many offers a variety of options from seafood to vegetarian. Their dessert menu is bigger than some food menus in some restaurants and it's also filled with lots of variety. The service was great and the food overall was acceptable. The prices are on the high side but this is a...
Read moreDo not go to this restaurant. There is no taste and it is expensive. I went to Coffee Beans with my hopes for lunch today. I went to expect taste 10 years ago. I also had a good taste when I went on a business trip last time. But it does not taste too much. Only the weaving was done.
So I told the staff that we came here a lot of times and it is really tasty today. The employee did not say anything and took a peek. I took it five minutes later. We were looking forward to a new creation. But it was my mistake. They have poured only water there.
I was very disappointed. The Coffee Bean restaurant in Ekamai now seems to have lost its initial focus and has gone to cost savings. It is a complete disappointment. I will not go again. And I will promote this fact a lot.
My money is a waste. One of the most expensive and tasteless restaurants is the Coffee Bean Restaurant in Ekamai Soi 12

Read moreJust like at any other Coffee Bean by Dao location, this one also offers a wide variety of dishes that are both local and international. Their dishes are always delicious.
The service quality at Dao’s is always generally good, but not outstanding compared to other restaurants we’ve been to in Bangkok.
If anything, I wish that I can clearly describe what type of cuisine they actually focus on. Currently, I can only say that they started with cheesecake, but now also serve a wide array of afternoon tea beverages, and also a mish mash of local cuisine that is sometimes Chinese inspired and international cuisine that is somewhat American, Italian, and French inspired.
While I enjoy their dishes and would recommend them for occasions where people can’t decide on what type of cuisine they want, or for a large party with varying proclivities, I simply wouldn’t know how to describe...
