The best Italian restaurant in Bangkok! Let me explain. Why do we go out to dine at a restaurant? Is it just the food? Just the service? Or the ambiance? What is it that we really want? Isn't it a combination of all the elements above? Well, for one thing, Sole Mio is the best Italian restaurant in Bangkok because it hits all the points I've just listed. First, they use imported ingredients when it is available within season. Second, they use all the traditional recipes that you'd find in Italy. Third, they take authenticity very seriously. No pretentiousness, no high class, fine dining fare. Just delicious food that you'd find in any Italian's home kitchen. The staff are super friendly, attentive and fun to talk to. They will greet you with a warm welcome and start you off with bread and condiments. The ambiance is my favorite part. It is tucked away in a small Soi off of Thong Lor Soi 13 so you don't hear the busy traffic that's synonymous with Bangkok. It's like stepping into a hug from your favorite aunt, the one who knows just how to spoil you. I had the traditional AOP, a dish so perfectly balanced it would make a tightrope walker jealous. As if the food weren't enough to make our knees go weak, Fernando, one of the restaurant owners, graced our table with his presence. He wasn't just dropping by; no, he was there to regale us with tales of the specials, each sounding more tantalizing than the last. The ambiance? Imagine the coolest playlist curated by your hippest friend, paired with a selection of vino that could make a sommelier weep.

The pizza, one of th best in Bangkok, the calzones to die for and of course the cannelloni was superb!!

The group I took with me my expat dinner group, we had a blast of conversation and of course, we were so so hungry 🤤 !

Everyone ordered their dishes to eat plus took some take away as well which was really good as I took home the calzone as well... and had it the next day!
