A very cute authentic Thai restaurant near Loh Pared Beach. The staff was very kind and helped us with their recommendations, and the food was freshly made and delicious.
From the salads section we ordered the papaya salad that was delicious and just the right level of spicy (the waitress asked us so the adjusted the spiciness level accordingly).
For mains we ordered the chicken cashew (nothing was too special about it, but still very tasty), the beef panang curry (sooo delicious, this is the one dish you just can't skip!), the stir fried morning glory (delicious and very flavorful) and the fried chicken with garlic & black pepper (deep spicy flavors, but it was soaked in oil as expected).
From the soups section we ordered our first tom kha gai with chicken which is a coconut milk soup full of flavors given by ginger, lemon grass, chilli peppers, kaffir lime leaves and other typical Thai condiments. The chicken was so soft, and although this soup isn't spicy at all, it had so many interesting flavors and we loved it.
The only downside we found here is that the dishes were quite small, so it's not the best VFM comparing to other Thai restaurant we ate at so far, but still the food was great and comparing to western prices of Thai food it's still very cheap.
To conclude, if you're looking for a clean & busy restaurant (meaning all of the ingredients are fresh, and the food is made by order) - this is a...
Read moreTogether Restaurant is a nice local Thai restaurant in a busy area of Koh Yao Yai.
We went here for dinner. The restaurant is located right on the street and there is a wide selection of Thai food. Fried rice, chicken cashew nut, pineapple fried rice, various curries such as massaman curry, green curry, etc. There is also a selection of starters such as spring rolls, onion rings and Thai salads. Smoothies and shakes are also available, as well as a selection of desserts such as mango sticky rice or banana in coconut milk.
Almost all dishes can be prepared vegan on request, which is a great advantage. As Koh Yao Yai is a small island, it is not exactly easy to find vegan restaurants. Here, vegan is absolutely no problem and you get great advice. You can also choose the spiciness of the dishes.
We had a vegan massaman curry, vegan pinapple fried rice, vegan spring rolls and a lemon shake. Everything...
Read moreDon't be put off by the man waving a massive menu trying to get you to eat there. When we eventually decided to eat there we did find delicious food. Massaman Curry was amazing, as well as stir fried chicken with Thai basil. Not to mention the mango and sticky rice. The restaurant is tidy and clean, and the staff smiley and welcoming.
They need to stop trying so hard to get people in, as the quality of the food speaks for itself, and we nearly didn't go in because of the menu waiving!
Also their Thai food is so great, if I was the manager I would get rid of the 3 whole pages of the menu with western food (such as pizza with green curry flavour) and keep it traditional because they really can cook so well, and personally if I see too much western food on a menu I'm less inclined to eat...
