Isaan Fine — Restaurant in Phang-nga Province

Came here after checking out food options outside of Santhiya (don't bother with buffet or alacarte restaurant)

Really hands down REALLY GOOD FOOD.

Pan fried sea bass fillet (comes with wedges, to die for) Pad Thai shrimp Grilled pork skewers Aglio olio shrimp (thanks to chef to accommodate my craving as it's not on menu) Watermelon smoothie

Sea prawns are really fresh, juicy, slight crunch when bitten into... Smoothie has a self made concoction which makes it stand out...

Asked and they can deliver, no regrets taking the walk over to Issan Fine

Fried ice cream is a must order! Pad kaprow is abit salty Green curry is very good, had the chicken Garlic pepper sea bass fillet is very satisfying Grilled squid with seafood sauce is delicious Som tam is just right of sour, spicy, crunchy papaya too

All 3 meals we had there made us feel we should've ordered more but our stomachs just couldn't take it. Very good, wish we stayed longer to try...

There are two restaurants right now actually, Isaan 1&2 and 3 to come. Both restaurants are good but this review is for 1. It’s a Covid story; the owner is a Chief by trade, 20 years or so worth of experience from resorts in Thailand to running kitchens in the United States, from DC to Idaho. During Covid he, maybe as many people have, was put in a position where he had to examine his life and what to do next. Isaan 1 was the beginning of that, it is set on a small hill, walking distance from the resorts and hotels around it. It’s a quiet place in the jungle with Good music, nice cocktails and great food. But it’s the People that work there that make the place. It’s a friendly social environment good for solo travelers, couples and families. At this point in time I would say it’s the best thing happening on this side of the island. And remember, we are not only in Thailand where the pace is slower but we are on a small and very local kind of island. So the pace can be super slow. My best advice, embrace it and enjoy. Isaan...

We decided to wonder out of the Santhiya Resort for dinner and we are so glad we did! We will be eating here the remainder of our trip. This food was so delicious! We had the pan seared sea bass that was perfectly cooked and came with delicious potatoe wedges and a side of veggies with a wonderful creamy lemon grass sauce I believe. We also had the red curry with beef and a side of steamed rice that my boyfriend said was one of the best curry’s he has ever had. He did 2 for his spice level and said he could have probably done 3 other than that we ate every last bit! We ended with the fried ice cream that’s was so good we forgot to take a picture!
