Yao Yai Beach Restaurant — Restaurant in Ko Yao Yai

The spot is nice but the flying ants descended on us during sunset. Service was decent and didn’t take long for drinks or food to come. Only negative thing I have to say is they are very very stingy with any meat or seafood especially for the price you are paying. I had the seafood pasta and got only 2 small shrimp and 4 bits of squid, the chicken samosas was all potato, the green chicken curry also very little chicken. The food tasted nice and flavourful but not worth the price at all.

This place has a cool vibe, by the sea but slightly raised up from the beach. I had a green curry, which was a very generous portion, with some rice. My wife had spicy basil and Prawns with rice. We both loved it. We also ordered morning glory, which we always order, this was the best one we've had yet. I also had the best passion fruit smoothy!!! Would definitely eat here again...

Drinks are reasonably priced for the island but the crab paneng was an utter joke - 220 baht for a tablespoon of crab meat (I’m not joking!) in an admittedly tasty sauce. Extra if you want rice. Other dishes received were also tiny. Go elsewhere for food.
