By The Sea Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Ko Yao Yai

I recently had the pleasure of dining at By the Sea in Santhiya Resort, where I was served by an outstanding team of waiters: Luv, Karan, and Benz. Each of them brought something special to the table, making my dining experience truly memorable.

Luv, in particular, stood out with his exceptional professionalism and dedication. His extensive knowledge of the menu and attention to detail ensured that everything was perfect. It's clear that he has a strong grasp of what excellent service entails, and I believe he would be an excellent mentor for the rest of the waitstaff. His ability to manage multiple tables while maintaining a warm and welcoming demeanor is truly commendable.

Karan also impressed me with his friendly attitude and efficient service. He was attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that all my needs were met promptly. His positive energy added to the overall enjoyable atmosphere of the restaurant.

Finally, I want to highlight Benz, who, despite being a newcomer with only a month of experience, has already made a significant impact. His eagerness to learn and adapt to the team is evident, and he carries out his responsibilities with enthusiasm. It’s exciting to see how he will grow in this role under the guidance of Luv and Karan.

Beautiful setting by the beach. Food is ok, not spectacular by any means, and overall is pricey! They are trying to be efficient by having the menu all online via a QR code but we actually found this method extremely frustrating, compounded by not staying at the hotel, so after we had completed our order it then had to be copied line by line by the (super helpful) waitress (May), which feels ridiculous. The Greek salad was very average in taste. One of the children’s meals arrived after we had eaten all of ours and it had clearly been missed. We also felt transported to 1970’s cruise ships due to the strange live music. Don’t get me wrong, the musicians weee talented, but does it match the hotel? Surely there should be some beautiful, serene Thai music playing as we have experienced at other 5 star hotels? The Manager and the staff really took good care of us, good food, quick delivery, live DJ and some traditional dance performance.

The beach bed setting for sunset is really a BIG BONUS for the dining experience, and esp. the staff Loken has given us a lot of attention, and has assisted us to enjoy the best sunset ever in Thailand with the paddle boarding!!! (I chose to stay in Santhiya because I saw Kayak and Paddle board are available for hotel guests, but the first day, the staff at the beach told me three paddles 🏄🏼are all broken, I was so upset, but the next day the Hotel Manager has borrowed one from sister resort, much appreciated to prioritise the need of guests! 🥳)

Food is delicious and really easy to order with the app, so no stress to wait for the waiters and the bill will be on the room, so no need to bring my wallet everywhere in the resort.🏖
