Eat Drink Love in Park Nine Suvarnabhumi Hotel has such a curious name that I was compelled to test if the name is true. It turned out to be a really amazing place to eat and drink, and perhaps fall in love with. The restaurant is in the front building of the charming hotel which is situated on a serene, leafy bank of a canal that felt far away from the rest of Bangkok. The location is outstanding, but what makes Eat Drink Love special is the quality of Western food that is very high, especially for an area like Lat Krabang that is not regarded as a foodie center. I had the creatively constructed set menu. Started off with the grilled chicken breast salad with fresh green organic salad and the wonderful Thai spicy dipping sauce (Jaew). The star of this setup was the subtle spicy sauce that acted as a mild dressing that was just refreshing. This was followed by the wild mixed mushroom soup with a focaccia bread stick topped with mushrooms. The truffle oil at the bottom of the soup bowl made for a fragrant, delicious addition. The main of grilled butter bath salmon was served with grilled baby carrots, quinoa and lemon white wine sauce. The salmon had a remarkable crispy skin. The fish meat had this unique flavor of light butter that the chef said she gave the salmon a “bath” with during cooking. I thought this was a genius move which made enhanced the salmon’s flavor. The end was a beautiful one, with a lovingly plated strawberry opera cake served with mixed fruit and strawberry ice cream and crumbles. Not too sweet and eminently addictive. I have found a place with food and service that rival the best restaurants in downtown Bangkok. The foodie in me looks forward to more leisurely meals of eating, drinking and being in love with...

Went here on a whim on the last night of our honeymoon. It was a big disappointment, but shame on me for not having made a reservation weeks ahead of time at a Michelin star restaurant, I was upset with myself for having not done that. I have to say every bit of food I tried I did not like. The spaghetti my wife ordered, the ratatouille I ordered as a side to my lamb and eggplant that was over cooked like beef jerky and also cold, none of it was good. I feel bad writing this review because the staff was so nice. But this was my first time sending food back in my life. I felt bad doing that. But I wasn’t going to pay for something I would not eat.
On top of this the experience was poor. There was a guy on speakerphone, very loud, and we as well as the table next to us asked for the staff to tell him to take it outside or hang up. The other table had to ask twice, the husband getting up to ask the manager to ask them to hang it up and my wife and I asked as well. It took a half hour for someone from the staff tho ask him to leave or take it off speakerphone. Poor experience and poor food. The worst food and experience we had the entire honeymoon unfortunately.
By the time we were leaving, somehow, there was another young lady on her phone on speakerphone at full blast. I thought this was a restaurant not a cafe of sorts. If you ever come here, I’m sure you could treat it as just a cafe and get away with it....
Read moreThe last day in Bangkok was an absolute disappointment because of the restaurant visit.
My wife and I are staying at the Park Nine Hotel for two days. So on the last evening we wanted to end our stay in Thailand with a good dinner in the "Eat Drink Love Restaurant".
The duck confit and chicken satay starters were still very good. But then I ordered an Australian Ribeye Steak medium cooked. I was brought something that had no resemblance to the photo in the menu.
A flat gray something cut into strips that was also served cold. I complained and 5 minutes later I was delivered almost the same cold copy. This was the worst experience I have ever had with steaks.
I had to return that too and cancel everything else. Unfortunately, we had to skip our nice...
