We recently visited BAN WAYLA, a finer place than normal. We didn't know what to order because it was our first time. Like in a fine restaurant, several of the foods looked appealing and worth the price. I didn't understand why some were so expensive because they appeared normal. We weren't completely satisfied with the taste of some of the foods. Cold fried pork, bad spring rolls or chicken cashew meal WITHOUT cashews were examples.🫠
Mention this restaurant for more than just the cuisine. The rooftop was quite high. There were a lot of stairs to go up to that view. While we were eating on the patio on the top floor, it started to rain, so we had to go all the way down for cover.
Going down those stairs to use the bathroom was a pain. Also, the toilet? Definitely not impressive. Others could hear almost everything outside....you know, EVERYTHING.😕
After the first visit, we revisited. The second was their New Year's menu dinner. This restaurant's 899 baht per person seemed fair because the meal was good. It tasted fantastic, but the amounts were small. We waited a long time for our meals, and we were still hungry afterward. In addition, they charged us 150 BAHT for opening each of our four bottles of wine. 🤔That was ridiculous. Watching fireworks was fun, however, the DJ played bad music. It was boring music.
We had amazing staff and pleasant, fast service both times. Food must be carried from the first level to the terrace, which is difficult. We said, "It's okay if things take a little longer." Their work is hard. We appreciated their effort.♥️
I recommend this restaurant if you want to spend more on a wonderful meal. Great for...
Read moreWe stayed at the rooms here and ate here almost every night - the food was brilliant with a wide selection to suit everyone with pizzas, pastas and other western food alongside traditional Thai meals, and the food was really well presented, not to mention it tasted amazing. We also ate breakfast here (a full English), which again was delicious, also served with toast and fresh fruit. They also serve a wide range of drinks, made fresh, from smoothies to milkshakes to cocktails, which also tasted amazing. The staff were also lovely, always accommodating to everybody’s needs and going above and beyond to give you a great experience, being chatty and making sure you were enjoying your meal. They even cooked us a fish we had caught that day on a boat trip free of charge! We were here on new years and they also hosted a brilliant fireworks display which we watched from the rooftop overlooking the pool and restaurant. The restaurant is also decorated very nicely to create a calm and warm atmosphere, and they often have the TV silently playing football in the background, so there is something...
Read moreHighly recommended to dine here! We stayed here and ordered meals from them several times cos it’s good.
Staff are very friendly with my children and even shared a toy with them to entertain them.
Sweet and sour fish (already deboned) - crispy, right balance of sweetness and acidity, we cannot stop eating
Tom yam soup - ordered several times, the taste is strong, spicy and creamy. Just try and you will know
Egg omelette - crazy crispy but slightly salty. They can cook with pork, prawn or crab meat etc
Fried noodles like pad Thai - good Thai standard
Glass noodles salad - one of my favourite, spicy and not too fishy
Spring rolls & fried chicken wings - plated very nicely, very crispy. You can’t go wrong here.
Green curry - can be spicier and stronger taste. The brinjal s are fresh and well cooked.
Note: they are closed...
