The Rock Bar — Restaurant in Patong

I would love to tear this place apart because of its stereotypical empty headed money mongering female clientele. But the truth is that the beers are cheap and cold, the male patrons are friendly and colorful, and the STAFF IS SUPERB.

I cannot give it five stars because I didn’t test the food out (and I do not think I would), and the truth is that being a nice, courteous, clean and well intentioned man means absolutely nothing to the female clientele there (like MOST places in Thailand).

Definitely one of the best night of my first time trip in phuket. Everywhere is loud and noisy here. But the atmosphere of this neighbourhood is very good for chilling with friends. The music is not loud at all. interior is big and comfy. Everyone there seems so friendly. Especially the owner who was so kind to give us some tequila shot for free because of delayed food. Stopped by the place for a drink - they have pints, pitchers and towers of the traditional local beer assortment. The place is nice and cosy, and they also have an entire food menu (more western than local), so if you want a beer/cocktail-fuelled break from the local cuisine, this is the right spot. The staff are friendly and the owner (originally from CZ) is a cool guy. We'll see if we can come back during our current trip, but next time we're on the island - we'll definitely...
