Excellent Seafood and Exceptional Service! Location: Pupen Seafood is perfectly situated by the beach, offering a stunning seaside view, especially during sunset. The restaurant has a laid-back, casual vibe that’s perfect for enjoying fresh seafood in a relaxed setting. With both indoor and outdoor seating, you can choose to dine with a view of the ocean.
Ambiance: The atmosphere at Pupen is lively and bustling, a true representation of a popular local spot. It’s not about fine dining here, but rather about enjoying good food in a welcoming, unpretentious environment.
Food: We ordered the black mud crab, grilled river prawns, tom yum soup with prawns, chili clams, and fresh coconut. Each dish was a standout:
Black Mud Crab: The crab was incredibly fresh, sweet, and perfectly cooked. After enjoying two legs, we found ourselves struggling with the rest of the crab, but the attentive staff stepped in to help us prepare it, making it so much easier to enjoy the rest of this delicious dish.
Grilled River Prawns: The prawns were grilled to perfection, with a smoky flavor that complemented their natural sweetness.
Tom Yum Soup: The tom yum soup with young coconut was full of rich, aromatic flavors, with just the right balance of spice and sourness, and the prawns were tender and juicy.
Chili Clams: The chili clams were a burst of flavor—spicy, savory, and incredibly moreish.
Coconut: To round off the meal, the fresh coconut was refreshing and sweet, a perfect palate cleanser after the rich seafood dishes.
Service: The service at Pupen was exceptional. Despite the restaurant being busy, the staff were attentive and friendly. A special mention goes to the staff who noticed our struggle with the crab and helped us prepare it, ensuring we could fully enjoy the meal. Their assistance made a huge difference and added a personal touch to our dining experience.
Value for Money: Pupen offers great value for money, especially considering the quality and freshness of the seafood. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable, making it an excellent spot for a seafood feast without breaking the bank.
Overall Experience: Pupen Seafood is a must-visit for anyone in Pattaya looking to indulge in fresh, delicious seafood. The black mud crab and grilled river prawns are highly recommended, and the service is top-notch. Whether you're a local or a tourist, Pupen delivers an authentic Thai seafood experience that’s sure to leave you satisfied. I’ll definitely be returning the next time...
Read moreI have come to this restaurant many times on holiday. Every time I go, there are always a lot of customers. So, you might be wondering if there will be enough parking space when you go. For this restaurant, you won’t need to worry about it because the parking lot is massive. The first time I went there, I didn’t know where the main entrance of the restaurant was. Since it is an open-air restaurant, you can enter from all sides. The easiest way is to ask the staff. Alternatively, if you walk from the parking lot and look to the left, you will see a two-story building. Walk there, and you will see a gold dolphins fountain. You can ask the staff to show you to a table or wait in line. While waiting, you can order food, so when you get the table, you will get the food faster. I recommend arriving at the restaurant at 5:00 pm if you don’t want to wait. Regarding the food, this restaurant is a seafood restaurant, and the seafood here is very fresh and delicious, with reasonable prices. The menu I usually order includes stir-fried squid with salted egg and stir-fried crab with curry powder. In my opinion, these two dishes are very delicious, especially if you like food with a rich cream flavor. The service at this restaurant is fast, considering the high number of customers, and the staff are friendly. The environment is nice and clean, with a high roof allowing good air circulation, so it's not hot inside. However, I avoid sitting in the first 1-3 rows in front of the restaurant because the food tends to cool down very fast in that area. One important aspect is the restroom; this restaurant has many toilet rooms for regular customers and a restroom for disabled customers. All the restrooms are clean and well-lit. After finishing my meal, I always go to Puwaan, an ice cream shop affiliated with this restaurant, which sells a variety of ice cream flavors, snacks, and souvenirs. The ice creams here are delicious. If you order a cup instead of a cone, you will get a plastic crab-shaped cup, which I find cute. If you want to walk on the beach after finishing your meal, the beach is across the road in front of...

15th Jan 2024 : Still the best !!! The place is packed out over the weekend. We need to shout out to the friendly staff and impeccable hospitality they offered us, making us feel homely and comfortable.
The missus loved the crab 🦀 wayyy too much. The meat is fresh, flaky, sweet and carries the slight pinch of sea-salt sensation.
We adventured into ordering a spicy Thai styled deep fried grouper. We were surprised by how well the gravy was created to complement the freshly done fish; a must try for those who love spicy 🌶️ dishes.
We also had their fresh giant mantis shrimp. The aromatic garlic carried the dish into another level.
There’s this deep fried meat stuffed/crab fillings balls that’s really interesting as well.
Last but not least, we had our favourite raw prawn salad, my missus technically completed her seafood fiesta with 5 ticks. ✅ ✅ ✅ ✅ ✅
As a matter of fact, she dived right into the dessert section of her favourite matcha gelato and freshly made waffle after the whole meal !!! This is something we highly recommend as well.
Thank you for the wonderful time Pupen, we will be back again soon !!! 🙏🙏🙏
19th May 2023 : Let’s get straight into action; this place is fully packed out during dinner hours. Nevertheless they still upkeep wonderful and friendly service attitude. The lady loves practically everything !!! She crowned the best “Thai raw prawn salad” here; which is technically meant the prawns are simply fresh and delicious. The fish roe tamarind soup is just mind blowing !!! The oysters and plump and fresh, cockles are juicy, fish is nicely deep fried. The experience with the steamed mud crab was just amazing. You need to “mortar” the crab yourself. Oh, not forgetting they have a dessert outlet as well. Do check out their handmade gelato and the waffles; simply amazing. We will be back with the kids soon Pupen, thank you for the...
