Capital O I-Talay Resort — Hotel in Pattaya City

There were things which we liked as well as things which surprised us in a negative way. ||First of all, we booked our room two months in advance - double bed with an extra bed. Our trip itself to get there was very long (two 6 hour flights + transfers and waiting in between flights totalled to 24 hours of travelling), so we wanted to shower and get some rest right when we got to our room and it was already around 11 pm. But when we got upstairs, we were surprised to see only a double bed there. After a while an employee came to our room and started to bring in the extra bed, sheets, pillow and a towel. He came in and out for some 20 minutes and finally the extra bed was set up. That was not cool, but we did not complain, because we were surprised with an upgrade to a family room. The room itself was spacious, neatly decoraded, a bit outdated though. The beds are extremely hard and it takes a few nights to get used to it. The bathroom was also spacious, but I have a hew comments about the bathroom. The shower stream is very poor, it took a looong time to rinse shampoo out of my hair. Also, the water from shower flooded all of the bathroom and the glass wall in the shower did not do anything, because the water can easily flow under it. Room cleaning was okay, clean towels and water bottles were provided daily.||About the staff - we complained one time about the shower flooding the bathroom, they said that someone is going to repair it, but nothing was done. The communication itself was quite difficult, because the staff did not understand what I was saying or pretended not to. It was difficult at times.||About breakfast - first two mornings we were surprised to see a buffet with a selection of hot food and fruit. The rest of the stay had to choose one of the four breakfast options which were brought in portions. Also, no fruit was available then.||Another surprise - the first few nights we could not sleep, because there were chickens and roosters making noise outside right under our window. We were staying on the 6th floor and it was still possible to hear them very loudly. However, after a while we got used to it and slept just fine.||About the pool - it is nice, but too deep for my liking. It is at least 1.80 metres deep. The sunbeds around the pool are nice and beach/pool towels are provided by the hotel which is also very convenient. However, we could sunbathe near the pool only for 3 hours, because then the sun disappeared behind other tall buildings.||Overall it is an ok budget variant hotel if you can get a good deal on it. It is located a 10 minute walk from the beach and the main road. The Jomtien night market is quite far (about 3 kilometres, but it seems too far to walk if it is that hot outside, haha), you definitely need to take some kind of transport to get there. I would stay there again if I got a good deal. However, I would prefer to stay closer to the beach and...

only stayed 2 nights, ||😊ok points, good size room, a little dated but ok, shower very good, curtains black out room very good, bed big and comfortable, nice soft pillows. room service good,, car parking ok. ||😒negative points:- we called hotel before booking asked "swimming pool ok" we were told yes! also that " hotel out the way and could be dangerous at night walking" ||we saw no food being served so can't comment on that. so as have car booked it, on arrival pool disgusting as green as you can get, told man coming, hahaha,, we didn't find friendly at all, the hotel itself way out of the main area, and they were right in saying, you would not want to walk back there at night. not easy if you have no transport. feels like the poor end of the beach, would we stay again ? no is the answer, there's lots...

I am a swiss tourleader/guide for over 47 years allover the world. I was pleasantly surprised to get with room #1401 a suite (2 rooms) for 3 weeks with 2 Ac's, 2 TV's, one large fridge! Towels can be exchanged at reception and get drinking water. Very friendly helpful kind reception. Room will be made up on request only! Beach is within a 10 minutes walk! The so called baht pickup buses charge only 10 baht per journey on main routes! Some installations in bathroom need to be fixed and also the lock of the door! Free WIFI /WLan worked in the room OK with help from the nice reception lady! All in all I can recommand this hotel for the very good price one does not expect such a nice room!...
