As I see, management does actually read and take the time to respond to reviews, let me remark pursuant to context and credibility prior to commenting on my latest experience at your establishment. A dear friend (RIP) first took me to this place years ago and I have been there numerous times without issue. Get some drinks, relax, music sabai sabai. I recall chatting with an owner, an intelligent articulate guy with background in the automotive industry in the UK. Recall he had an issue with certain features/spec of a Mercedes Benz he liked and an import was very expensive. My profession as a US qualified medical doctor came into the conversation and he confided in me about his longstanding health issue and I was happy to share my thoughts on it. I have lived in Thailand in excess of 10 years.
Anyway Monday evening (2 nights ago)as I was headed to an ATM (knew I only had 200 baht) walked by WM and thought to grab a 90 baht beer pit-stop. Sitting minding my own business a dancer uninvited sits on my lap and a waitress appears almost immediately. Waitress prompts me to buy dancer a drink but I tell her in all honesty â Sorry because I donât have the cashâ I also told her in Thai (I speak, read and write Thai) Waitress said âDonât worry. I give her 200 baht for drinkâ I was shocked and asked her in Thai to confirm what she said âReally, you will pay for her drink?â âYes.â Next in a jovial way they asked me what my name is, I told them but waitress said better to please write name. She took out a piece of what looked like scrap paper, had other things written on it already. As a courtesy I printed my name. Couple of minutes later they bring ME a check for 290 baht. I ask waitress why because waitress stated she is paying for dancerâs drink. Fact is I clearly did not agree to pay for this drink and I had even stated I did not have much money prior to this. Running a tab is different because some places will ask customer to sign each bill as a safeguard. I have done this before but this was completely different, the paper on which waitress asked to understand my name better was NOT a bill, it looked like a scratch paper.
Mamasang came to scold me and I reiterated what factually happened, in Thai. Of note is my actual real bill for 90 baht never reappeared though I asked for it. They seemed uninterested and I literally had to insist on paying this which I did and with tip intended for my original server. Perhaps they were hoping I would leave without paying my real bill then use this as leverage to extort me? Mamasang had security remove me. I was glad to leave and just wanted to pay my actual bill first but mamasang had the heavy set security guy push me out. It seemed as I could speak Thai and knew I had been scammed they did not know what to do with me. Even as I was walking out the security guy was shoving my shoulder unnecessarily. I did tell them in Thai I am more than happy to go with them to the police station and report this incident, to which they replied never-mind.
Using logic and reason one would think after a customer confirms before the fact, not having enough cash on hand for a drink that they would find a different customer to perpetrate this on,?
I highly doubt the owner sanctions stuff like this. Really a pity my first review has to be about this.

This Windmill used to be my favorite spot in Pattaya, and I came here six days a week every time I was on vacation. During my last visit, a waitress asked me to buy her a drink, and when I agreed, she brought the drink and disappeared. She didnât drink it with me, she simply added it to my bill, placed it next to me, and vanished. For over an hour, I asked other waitresses and supervisors in the hall to call her (fortunately, her name was listed on the bill), but it was useless. Eventually, a manager came over and "tried to resolve the issue." At first, he tried to hand me back the money for the drink. Dude, I donât need your 300 baht. I come here to spend money and have fun, not the other way aroundâdonât confuse the two! Nearly every day during my last two vacations, I spent the following amounts here at this very Windmill:
3,000 bahtâyou know what for.
5,000 bahtâyou know what for.
2,000 bahtâfor drinks for myself and the girls.
I come here for fun, so why on earth would I care about your 300 baht? By offering me that money, you're essentially saying, "I donât care, just get lost, you dumb idiot." When I told him that this was the worst thing he could have done in this situation, he... kept shoving the money at me! How is that even possible? Canât you understand basic human language? Canât you sense your customerâs feelings? Is this a place of entertainment or a government office from the late 20th century, where nobody gives a damn about you?
Then this manager, Paul, started lecturing me with boring explanations about how the club has rules and that the waitress was supposed to stand outside to advertise the venue. Why should I care? I bring my money here to immerse myself in happiness and fun, not to listen to dull sermons.
The whole situation could have been resolved effortlessly. All he had to say was, "Guys, weâre really sorry. Guys, Iâll talk to her; itâs not okay for a girl to order a drink and run off. Guys, letâs shake hands." And if, oh my God, you had called her back from outside for 5 or 10 minutes, you would have been the champions of all champions! Would your business have fallen apart because of that?
One more thing. I remember when Kuvera worked here. That guy was amazing. He was like a celebration. He made a great day even better. With Paul here, I donât want to come...
Read moreI had heard good things about the Windmill Agogo clubs on Reddit, so I decided to check them out. I started my night at Windmill 2, which is located across the alley from Windmill 1. The atmosphere at Windmill 2 was great, and I enjoyed the company and the beautiful sights. After a few drinks, both for myself and the ladies, I decided to head over to Windmill 1, hoping for an even better experience.
When I arrived at Windmill 1, I politely asked the security guard if I could take a quick peek inside to see if it would be worth my time. Unfortunately, the guard was aggressive and spoke broken English, which made it difficult for me to understand him. I thought he said I could take a look, but apparently, he was saying that I needed to buy a drink to do so. Not understanding him, I stepped inside for a quick glance and realized that Windmill 1 wasnât as appealing as Windmill 2. I decided to head back to Windmill 2 to continue enjoying my night.
As I walked out, the security guard at Windmill 1 started cursing at me. If your business requires customers to buy a drink before entering, you should hire staff who can communicate clearly in English or at least put up a large sign outside stating the policy. Instead, I was met with an aggressive guard who seemed ready to fight simply because I didnât understand his poorly communicated demands and refused to tolerate his verbal abuse.
Frustrated, I asked the security guards at Windmill 2 if both clubs were owned by the same person and why their colleague at Windmill 1 treated customers so rudely. Their response was, "It's their business model." A business model of ripping people off, cursing at customers, and picking fights. The incident completely ruined my night. While I initially had a wonderful time at Windmill 2, the aggression and poor treatment at Windmill 1 overshadowed it. I will never return to either establishment.
This was the first time I've encountered such hostility and a shady business model anywhere in the world, and I certainly didn't expect it in Pattaya or Thailand. Do yourself a favor and avoid these two places...
