Did not try the food, but everything else was horrendous, tried to order 2 drinks but the server would not listen and kept pointing at full bottles of vodka and I gave up and said ok. Got moved to another table where we had 1 person standing there like a servant/butler to fill our glasses with ice, soda and vodka when they were empty, even when we tried to say no he just continued to try and do it, kind of uncomfortable with a person standing there just waiting to for you to drink som they can make you drink even more,
Now about the music, the sound level was ok and type of Indian music with a couple of girls dancing on stage also decent.
For the vip customers who wanted to the staff gave them stacks of fake money to throw, either from the second floor onto other customers, or from the stage next to the dancers. This is not even tacky, it is so disgusting, pathetic and classless.
The absolute worst of the whole experience, the toilet, when I went in to the toilet there was two staff one security person and cleaning personell call him K. I went in to one booth there was no toilet paper, the K gave me 3 single papers of tissue for drying hands not toilet paper, had to ask again to get more only got 4 more, now props to the security person who probably was embarrassed by the behavior of K, he gave an pack of wet wipes. Also there is a sign in the bathroom stall that do not flush toilet paper, like come on how is it the customer responsibility to not clog the toilet when they don't buy regular toilet paper but coarser paper not ment for flushing.
It was not any better when I was washing my hands, instead of letting me just do it normally K had to hold the bottle of soap for me, the drying tissue and start an unwanted massaging/rubbing my shoulder while I was drying hands just to end it with begging for tips when I was leaving the toilet. Really agrivating experience, the whole attitude of most the staff was just to wring more money out of you without actually making it comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Tldr: Bad service, ok Indian music, do not use the restroom!!! expensive comparatively to other places, giving VIP customers stacks with fake money to throw/rain at customer who are not VIPs, disgusting way to treat customers...
Read moreJalwa is an Indian-style pub located on Walking Street in Pattaya. The music is mostly Hindi, Punjabi, and some South Indian tracks, so it definitely caters to the Indian crowd. Once you enter, the staff takes you to a spot below the DJ console and shows you the drinks menu. They do have a wide variety of beverages, but prices are about 5 times higher than usual. Tower beers are listed in 3-liter and 5-liter options, but when you ask for the 3-liter tower, they usually say it’s not available. On top of that, the floor manager then tries to move you upstairs or near the bar, where seating is quite cramped and close to other customers. The overall vibe is lively, but the pricing and seating arrangements could definitely be better.
The bar staff regularly come around to pour your beer and make sure you’re constantly drinking. It feels like they don’t let you just sit and relax without having a drink in hand. If you’re not willing to buy more drinks, they’ll eventually ask you to leave. The pub also has a few events, like Russian dancers performing to Bollywood songs and Indian men dancing to Bhangra, which adds to the entertainment but overall, it can feel a bit pushy with the drink policy.
One of the most uncomfortable parts of Jalwa Pub is the way the staff tries to pull in Indian visitors from the street. While passing by, they sometimes grab your hand and try to drag you inside, which feels very unprofessional and pushy. The management really needs to change this approach if they want to create a better...
