Edit: Upon further asking of people, Oyo and Agoda are to be blamed for #1. The hotel has nothing to do with it and they tried to appease us as best they could. Using Agoda seem to have us ended up getting the bait-and-switch. We got a good deal with their deluxe or VIP room from Agoda but when we arrived on site we were told somethings happened and they will cancel our booking. In the end we still got a choice of 3 rooms--the common ones. Enormously huge difference from the ones offered in Agoda. They provided free breakfasts during our stay. We had to extend our visa during our stay in this hotel. We had trouble in the immigration office and had to wait an hour or so, because apparently we weren't registered to have checked in on their hotel, then despite efforts of the Ayutthaya Immigration Office contacting the hotel, the people at the other end of the phone wouldn't confirm that we're staying at their hotel. It costed us more than an hour of waiting and doing over the long process of visa extension because of this. The hotel is quite near the places we want to visit. They also have contacts for transportation should guests need it. No laundry service but they pointed out one that's nearby. The managers will physically show up from 11am to maybe 5pm. And it's posted above their front desk that anything you need should be asked before 6pm. After 7pm you're on your own. Facilities are good. Plenty of places to do paperwork or vlogging or what have you. I think a huge majority of the reviews are tourists from Bangkok led by their tour guide to this hotel/restaurant. If you're hungry roaming around Ayutthaya, the first food you'll be lead to eat will of course taste great. Hence the stars. I think the food is good. Not spectacular. Just good. You will love the manager. I love the manager. As for the...

The location of this hotel is excellent, just a few steps away from Ayutthaya Night Market and the most famous landmarks like Wat Ratchaburana and Wat Mahathat. We arrived in Ayutthaya by minivan from Bangkok, and it was only a 5-minute walk from where we were dropped off to the hotel.
Upon arrival, we were welcomed very warmly. The staff were incredibly helpful, hospitable, and kind. The room and the hotel were exceptionally clean. The AC worked perfectly, and the Wi-Fi speed and stability were excellent. Free shampoo and soap were provided in the room.
The balcony of our room was a lovely spot where we could enjoy the beautiful green view of the city. The bathroom was spotless, the water pressure was great, and the warm water was stable. The bed was very comfortable, ensuring a good night’s rest.
On our last day, we checked out, and since our train to Chiang Mai was at 23:36, we needed to leave our backpacks at the hotel until the evening. Although the hotel's policy allows storing bags only until 8 PM, the manager and reception staff kindly made an exception and let us keep them until 10 PM, which was a great favor.
We were very pleased with our stay and highly recommend this hotel for anyone...

I thought I am good at spotting scams yet I still fell for this one.
I hired a driver for a private Ayutthaya tour. The driver took us to this restaurant.
Everything is small portion and tastes mediocre. I ended up spending more than 1000baht for a not so good meal for two adults two kids and left with my stomach half full. The waitresses do not speak much English so it took several rounds to get our orders through and wasted a lot of time. This is especially annoying as we have a fight to catch at the busy BKK after lunch.
I left the restaurant with the urge to leave a bad comment then I saw there was already another google review saying “my driver took me here”.
I was originally planning to tip my driver around 500 baht at the end of the day to use up my remaining baht. However now the restaurant has exhausted all my remaining cash if considering the driving fee I was going yo pay to the driver. But I will not feel bad for not tipping the driver. He must have gotten enough kickbacks from this place.
Lesson learned: trust google, not a driver you’ve only known...
