Civilize Ayutthaya — Restaurant in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya City Municipality

Civilize Ayutthaya, a restaurant that positions itself as a refined destination for traditional Thai cuisine, delivers on its culinary promise but stumbles in the realm of ambience—a flaw that, unfortunately, overshadows an otherwise enjoyable meal.

Our selection included grilled river prawns, spicy corn salad with salted egg, and pork shoulder with spicy sauce. The grilled prawns, while boasting a pleasant smokiness, raised concerns regarding their freshness; the texture lacked the desirable bounciness expected from premium river prawns. The other dishes, however, upheld the standards of a well-executed Thai meal, meeting expectations without exceeding them.

Yet, what truly marred the experience was the inexplicably disruptive atmosphere. On the day of our visit, a large group had taken it upon themselves to turn the dining space into their personal karaoke lounge—an intrusion that was neither subtle nor remotely bearable. Had the singing been even moderately pleasant, one might have endured it. But alas, the performers seemed to have a particular talent for missing every note, their off-key renditions clashing brutally with the restaurant’s supposed “high-class” image. For the price point and positioning of the establishment, such an allowance for blaring, amateur karaoke was baffling and wholly inappropriate.

Service-wise, the staff displayed commendable enthusiasm, but no level of attentiveness could compensate for the auditory assault we endured.

Ultimately, Civilize Ayutthaya delivers a solid meal but fails spectacularly in preserving the refined dining experience it claims to offer. A restaurant of this calibre should prioritise ambience as much as its cuisine—after all, what is fine dining without a...

Worst service ever I have seen in my life. I am a chef as well but today was ridicules. We were 11 of us. Including 4 kids. Have to wait 40-50 minutes for food to come on our table. At first they dropped 1Duck dish & rice on our table & we waited after that for 30 minutes more to get rest of the food out. Even after so much of wait, few dishes was still missing for the table. Finally after 50 minutes they bring out 1 dish. By that time it was toooo late as all of us already finished our dinner. On top of that they never give one of the kid her food. So she had to go eat somewhere else. Waiter & waitress were hope less. Just simply standing behind us & can even top up our water glass. Twice we have to get up ourself to get water.

Manager had no idea on to how to run a restaurant. Manager means to manage not to stand there & do nothing.

บริการ ดูแลไม่ค่อยทั่วถึง ลูกค้าต้องบริการตัวเอง เช่น รินเครื่องดื่ม สั่งเครื่องดื่มเพิ่มเติม ทั้ง ๆ พนักงานหลายท่านเดินผ่านและมองเห็น แต่เพิกเฉย เดินผ่านไป และไม่บริการ จนต้องเรียกขอให้ช่วย สรุปง่ายๆ สั้น ๆ เรารู้สึกว้า พนักงานไม่ได้ตระหนักถึงงจิตวิญญาณของงานบริการ (แต่เราสัมผัสได้ของหญิงสาวท่านหนึ่ง ที่มีความกังวลเรื่องการบริการลูกค้าอย่างจับใจ จนถึงขั้นออกปากดุพนักงานคนอื่นๆ)

อาหาร อาหาร หน้าตาดูดี จัดแต่งจานได้หรูหรา น่ารับประทานราคา ค่อนข้างสูง เมื่อเทียบกับร้านอื่น ๆ แต่หากว่าได้รับการบริการที่น่าประทับใจ ดูแลเอาใจใส่ เราก็มองว่าจะอยู่ในระดับที่สมเหตุสมผล เราไม่กังขา แต่บริการที่เราได้รับนั้น ทำให้เรารู้สึกว่า ไม่คุ้มค่า รู้สึกไม่ดี รสชาติอาหาร เราคิดว่าไม่ถูกปากเรา เพราะเราชอบรสจัด แค่ทางร้านน่าจะบรรจง รสชาติให้สามารถรับประทานได้ทุกชนชาติ จึงมีรสชาติกลาง ๆ (กลางถูกปาก กลางไม่ถูกปาก) รายการอาหารที่เราสั่งมารับประทาน ได้แก่ -ยำส้มโอ - รสชาติดีมาก ไม่ควรพลาด -เห็ดแชมปิยองทอด - รสชาติดี -หมูกรอบฮ่องกง ชิ้นใหญ่มาก หนังกรอบไม่ฟูมากนัก ไม่มีรสพิเศษที่แตกต่างจากหมูกรอบประเทศไทย -ปลาช่อน ถอดก้างทอด - signature แต่ไม่ถูกปากเรา ชิ้นใหญ่(เกินไป) -กุ้งแม่น้ำเผา ขนาดตัวละ 700 บาท - กุ้ง หนึบเด้งดี แต่น้ำจิ้มทำให้เราขมลิ้น และขาดรสเปรี้ยว ทานแล้วไม่กลมกล่อม / ความคิดเห็นของเรากับเพื่อนอีก 3 คน ท่านอื่นๆ อาจจะเห็นต่าง เราไม่ว่ากัน -แพนงเป็ดหนังกรอบและลิ้นจี่ - น้ำแกงฉุนกลิ่นสมุนไพรมากที่สุด ไม่เข้ากันกับเครื่อง น่าจะถูกใจท่านที่ชอบรสเครื่องสมุนไพร แต่พวกเราคิดตรงกันว่า ไม่เข้ากันเท่าใดนัก ยิ่งลิ้นจี่ที่วางเคียง มีความหวานมากกว่าเปรี้ยว โดยรวมแกงจึงหวานนำลืมเปรี้ยวไปเลย -ข้าวสวย ไม่นุ่ม ไม่หอม ข้าวร่วน
