Banchan Hostel — Hotel in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya City Municipality

Feels like home! The breakfast is simple (toast, jam, honey, banana, milk and cornflakes) but there is a microwave, toaster and also a fridge+freezer where you can store your purchased food. The first night I slept in a room with 6 normal beds which are not fully surrounded by curtains. Hence I felt very exposed and that was uncomfortable. The next night I slept in a normal bunk bed with big curtains, which is what the other room should have as well. At least the curtains should be around the entire bed and not just half of it. The bathrooms could be cleaner. Since the hostel is not big at all cleanness is easy to control, but unfortunately that was not the case in the bathrooms. The best thing about the hostel is the cozy and spacious hangout area in and outside. Bikes can be rented for 60B a day but they could be in better condition. However it is alright. I’m backpacking Southeast Asia and I got the worst night’s sleep here due to noise out of any hostel so far. Noise traveled between rooms so much that it sounded like people in the next room were in my room. They had loud conversations late at night and played loud music at 7 in the morning. The bed was comfortable so I guess if you’re a heavy sleeper it will be fine. I just could not believe how much the noise carried. I’ve slept better at party hostels. Plus when I checked in (at normal hours) there was no one at reception so I just had to sit there for awhile. There is also no hand soap in the bathrooms which is a pet peeve of mine. I wouldn’t...

TLDR: Would not stay here again. The room was too hot in the afternoon despite the Aircon on at full blast. For those staying in the lower bunk beds it would have been okay. For those above it was way too hot. When I told the owner he just came in, fiddled with the remote and nothing changed. The bathrooms were kinda dirty and one was flooding. The water in the other one wasn't hot, although I didn't mind too much since it was a hot day.
