This place is right on the river bank. More accurately it's on a river island. Some were riverside tables. They also had some on river boats. Don't know if you have to book to be seated there. The view though wasn't interesting. I also suspect there may be a mosquito issue when it's dark.
We ordered five dishes with steamed rice to be shared among 6 adults. Found the variety and quantity to be about right.
Based on their quality, grilled prawns were far over-priced (THB 1,800 for 4 prawns). They were small for their 4-prawn-per-kilo size (I often have one this size about THB 700-1,000 per kilo, about 5-8 prawns.). They said thiers were wild-caught, and this may explain the price. Freshness was not bad but could have been better. We're of course informed of the price before, but when they were served, it somehow felt like a ripoff still.
Apart from the prawns, the other dishes were reasonably priced (around THB 1,000 for 4 dishes), mostly delicious, and timely served.
Another serious issue was the flies. At least a dozen of flies decided to joined us. There didn't seem to be any measure the restaurant took in an attempt to solve this. (Some would provide fly glue, etc.) It's annoying you had to wave your hand over your food repeatedly while eating to scares the flies. It's also really unsightly seeing this happening to almost all tables.
From start to finish, the staff were very attentive and helpful.
So, if this place is your next stop, I suggest you stay away from grilled prawns, and be informed of the fly issue.
May visit again for non-grilled...

If you are a foreigner and confused about their giant river prawn menu like we were (“why are more shrimp cheaper than less shrimp?”)
I highly recommend ordering from the (8,7,6,5,4) menu, you will get the most bang for your buck! As the number gets smaller, the shrimp get bigger but you get less of them (e.g 8 smaller shrimp vs. 4 larger shrimp) We ordered the largest shrimp they had for 1000 baht, and then a slightly smaller one for 600 baht to see the size difference. As you can see in my last picture, the size difference is not significant—or even noticeable really—to warrant the extra 400 baht. I’m kind of questioning if they even gave us the largest shrimp! 🤔
The shrimp were delicious but overall it’s not at all worth the money to get the larger ones in my opinion. We also saw giant river prawn for much cheaper at other restaurants, so this restaurant is quite pricey. If I were going to eat river prawns while in Ayutthaya, I would opt for a cheaper restaurant!
The rest of their menu was very affordable and tasty. We especially loved the fried shrimp and the watermelon shake was one of the best...
Read moreIt truly one of our best surprises during our stay at Ayutthaha. We were starving Anmaßung for a local, quiet, clean and tasty restaurant to have dinner. We almost missed the entrance because we assumed to enter a motorbike repair store. But one of the boys pointed inside and said „Restaurant inside“. We walked up the stairs and saw: no one. Empty tables. But then I asked a waitress that looked at me where to go to eat. She guides is inside and there it is: we did did visit that much typical Thai kitchens but we witnessed one of our best dinners so far in Thailand. Try the „red curry“ or one of the vegetables. I was not sure how robust all plates and stuff but one of the friendliest waitress showed Me anything and encouraged to try any single vegetable I had on the table.
Just a recommendation for a nice view on the river. Best lunch and nice...
