Arriving shortly after 6pm, we ordered food and drinks and were informed that we could be waiting over thirty minutes for our food because there were two tables in front of us. My thoughts were that if three tables stressed a restaurant, would would a full house do?

The drinks arrived, followed by complimentary warm focaccia.

Despite the waiter's earlier warning, the main courses then arrived fairly quickly. The waiter then attemlted to squeeze these dishes onto the table between the empty bread and dip plates and it took my fifteen-year-old daughter to suggest that it might be better to clear the empty dishes first!

The food was a huge disappointment. The kids had spaghetti Bolognese. The beef was supposed to be Wagyu, but it might as well have been minced chicken breast because it had ZERO flavour. Similarly, the Bolognese sauce tasted like watered down passata. To seal the deal, both Bologneses were delivered mildly warm. My daughter took one mouthful and left the rest.

The four cheeze pizza was better, but very average; the burrata topping was the best part, very creamy.

The best bit of the meal, was the delicious latte served at the end of the meal. It would have been even better had it been served hot, not lukewarm.

Whilst the grounds are very pretty, with all the trees covered in tiny white lights, the service was lacklustre and the food, in my opinion, very poor.

This morning my son and I had upset stomachs. Perhaps my daughter had been wise to give the food a miss.

I am extremely disappointed with the incompetency and dismissiveness of the staff member that dealt with my attempt to make a reservation.

I had contacted several of the better hotels in Hua Hin, regarding Christmas and New Year festivities, and decided to celebrate Christmas Eve at Azure. There was a great deal of competition, so it was a complement.

Several emails went back and forth before I was sent a payment link. Unfortunately, the 20% early bird discount had been miscalculated, so I politely pointed this out. I was then sent another payment link, with the correct 20% deduction, but with an additional 10% service charge that had been "forgotten" earlier. I politely pointed out that I had been given a net price; i.e. inclusive of the 10% service charge and 7% government tax. At this point all communication ceased.

As the person dealing with my reservation clearly didn't want my custom, I will be taking it elsewhere.

Better service is expected of a Five Star Hotel like the Intercontinental.

By stark comparison, at the same time I made a New Year's Eve reservation at the Sheraton. They managed to accept my reservation, payment and table selection ultra-efficiently and without any problems whatsoever.

Sadly, the Sheraton is booked out for Christmas; I could hazard a guess why Azure isn't.

I mean, you really can’t get a better view of the beach at Hua Hin while dining. Some might match it, but I don’t think anyone can beat it. It is fabulous. The service is top-notch. Super friendly and very attentive. I was very happy to leave a tip in this instance. It was well-deserved. The complimentary sourdough bread and butter was very good. I love sourdough. We also really thought highly of our calamari appetizer. I love calamari and almost always try it when I see it on the menu of a new restaurant. This is the second best calamari I have had in my almost five years of living in Hua Hin. The pizza I had was pretty good. It was just a pepperoni, but nice flavor and crust. Nothing life changing by any means, but it was a solid pizza. I heated up the other half the next day and it was a little below average, which was too bad. I usually enjoy a pizza even more the next day when I heat it up. My better half got a salmon pasta that she said was just ok. She only ate a little bit and took the rest home. She ate it the next day and said that she did not really enjoy it. We only had waters and soft drinks. Spent a New Year's Eve party in Azure restaurant. The food was excellent, and the Chef did an incredible job, The table service was also good, and the waiter was one of the best in Thailand. When I was at the hotel in person we discussed the exact table with a beach view, and because I was there in early December lady told me that an early bird discount was available, so I was pleased with such hospitality, but I never thought that management could mess up so many things with simple table booking, it took me more than a week, and 3 calls (each time repeating all my info) to pay for the booking, and after that I got completely different table, without sea view, and without early bird discount.
