Maybe I’ve found a new top 5 restaurant (for me) for Thai food in Hua Hin. An added plus is that it is practically across the street from my condo! My girlfriend was searching online for a new place to try in town. She found Sailom, so we decided to check it out for a late lunch. We got there at about 4pm and we were the only diners for the duration. It was very cool. We had very efficient and attentive service. We had want for nothing at any time, but they were not hovering. It was perfect. We initially sat at a table next to the beach, with a beautiful view. The dishes came and we began to eat. And then…it began to rain. Staff came out as the first raindrops began to fall, and they put all of our dishes on trays and moved us to a table under cover. Our great meal commenced. I had grilled pork neck, a dish of mixed vegetables sautéed in oyster sauce, and some fried prawn cakes. I cannot find any fault in any of those dishes. They were all perfect for me, and I was very pleased. My girlfriend also loved her dishes, and we both waddled out very stuffed. We loved our visit and will make this a regular visit.
Edit: 03/15/25. Have to take away a star for last visit. Steak came overcooked and the quality has slipped. Four baht a glass for ice is kinda weird too. I should have taken a pic...
Read moreSailom Restaurant in Huahin is an absolute gem! The food here is delicious, with a wide variety of mouthwatering dishes to choose from. The service is excellent, with attentive staff who go above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. The ambiance is charming, offering a cozy and relaxed atmosphere perfect for enjoying a meal with loved ones. The only minor drawback is that occasionally a leaf might fall into your food, but it's a small issue considering the overall quality of the dining experience. Additionally, some may find the restaurant's ambiance to be a bit old-fashioned, but personally, I found it to add to the charm of the place. Definitely a must-visit spot in Huahin for authentic Thai cuisine and warm hospitality! The only thing that I don't like is having flowers and leave falling from the tree to your food dishes. If you wanna sit outside by the beach, i highly recommend to book your table in advance to...
Read moreApparently, when you reserve tables here, it can be open ended. It reminds me of the eurotrash who put their towels on the deck chairs at 6am to "claim" them for that afternoon.
Here, there are 4-5 tables unoccupied closest to the sea with "reserved" signs on them, but it's 5pm... so we inquired "what time will the parties arrive, we'll probably be done before all of them arrive, chai mai krub?" But the sweet waitress said there are, in fact, no times assigned to them.
Now, you may be thinking, "it's no big deal dude, just sit somewhere else," and you'd be 100% correct and it's what we did with smiles on. The point is a matter of principle: is everyone completely idiotic nowadays? It is shocking how poor and poorly thought out "customer care" is in the "service industry" in...
