Kept putting off a visit for some reason, even though I really wanted to try it. I got in there today for lunch. Almost walked back out, because there was live music that was kinda loud. I wasn’t in the mood. I just wanted a quiet lunch. I stayed and it wasn’t too bad. I wonder if they have that everyday? Anyways, we started with the prawns in garlic butter sauce as an appetizer. It was absolutely perfect. Big prawns that were cooked just right, and the sauce was incredible. We were spooning it up even after the prawns were long gone. I had the sausage & mushroom rigatoni and it also was pretty damn tasty. Maybe could used a little more salt, but hey, that’s why those little condiment caddies are on the table, right? I really liked this dish and would definitely order it again. The better half had a fried sea bass fillet with a mango salsa. She said it was ‘alright’. She gave me a bite and that one bite had a bone it. That’s a deal breaker for me. I absolutely hate fish bones! Also, the mangoes in the salsa might have been overripe. They were so frickin’ overpowering. This dish was ‘alright’ with her, but it was a definite miss for me. That’s okay; tons of other options on the menu to try on future visits. And there definitely WILL be future visits. Welcome to the neighborhood,...
Read moreI ordered fish and chips for take out while waiting for my kids to finish playing at the Songkran festival. This seemed to be a big deal since 6 or 7 of them had to get involved and I had to repeat my order a few times. I asked, “how long?” They said “10 minutes”. So I paid and left to get my kids. 18 minutes later I returned with my family waiting in a running car and they looked at me blankly like they didn’t know who I was. Then the guy says, “10 minutes”. Here’s a tip, when a customer asks how long it will be don’t make stuff up. Because if you’re wrong, you will have zero credibility. So when you tell them a second time a made up time, they will just think you’re lying.
In the end, I abandon my order. You guys owe me a fish and chips. Unfortunately it’s very unlikely...
Read moreMust visit for anyone that loves beer! Beer Collection is hands-down one of the best beer spots I've come across in Thailand. They’ve got a massive selection, at least 100+ beers from around the world. The local brews are fairly priced, and while the more obscure imports (like the Kagua Blanc, my favorite of the day) cost a bit more, they’re absolutely worth it. You’d usually have to travel to the country of origin to even try some of these.
The food is also fantastic, and the whole vibe is spot-on. There's live music inside that adds energy without being overwhelming, and if you want to chill out, the shaded patio is perfect for relaxing, enjoying your drink, and even having a smoke. Great service, killer atmosphere, I’ll...
