I’ve dined here numerous times and often left with the thought, “Well, that was pricey.” But today marks the first occasion where I walked out feeling, “This is outrageous. We’ve been taken advantage of.”
Whenever we visit Hua Hin, we make it a point to come here. The setting is undeniably beautiful, with stunning views right by the sea. However, the food and drinks have taken a sharp decline since our last visit six months ago. This time, we were genuinely taken aback by the lack of quality.
The final bill for a party of three, including a toddler, exceeded 6,000 baht. To put that in perspective, it’s the kind of budget that could have us savoring an exquisite meal at one of Bangkok’s finest eateries, with inventive Thai-Western fusion and impeccable execution. Instead, what we received was a meal that could easily be found for a third of the price, with quality to match.
Take, for instance, the entree portion of pesto pasta with shrimp, priced at nearly 700 baht. Even in Bangkok’s most notorious Italian restaurants, you would struggle to find a pesto pasta for that price. The dish was thoroughly mediocre—a bland pesto diluted with cream, offering nothing in the way of fresh, vibrant flavors.
The soft-shell crab, admittedly, was crisp and delicate, but the accompanying vegetables and sauce were underwhelmingly tasteless. I have lived in Thailand for 14 years - this simply is not Thai food. There was no vibrancy, no seasoning to elevate the experience—just a monotonous, forgettable plate.
The last time we came, the duck red curry was truly a show-stopper. Slices of tender duck breast in a velvety rich sauce that made my family and I swoon and gossip. This time I am convinced there was less duck and the sauce was simply fine. Where is the decadence? Where are those wonderful party-in-my-mouth flavors we expect?
Have you changed the chef? Please tell me you have changed the chef and these are just teething problems. I sincerely hope you have not gotten complacent and simply started cutting corners.
The drinks were equally disheartening. A small Aperol spritz set us back 450 baht, served in a plain, small white wine glass, while a Tanqueray gin and tonic was poured on a slice of lime at the table for 350 baht—hardly the kind of finesse one expects at this price point.
I truly hope this review is seen by the Let’s Sea team as constructive criticism from a loyal customer. We have been here around 8 times over the years and always get excited by the prospect of returning. We left this evening feeling taken advantage of. There is simply no way...

Read moreWe were there last night (18 Jul 16) with high expectation from high rating and good reviews. First of all because we didn't reserve place then we got a table under trees and is not front the beach but it's not so bad. A female staff came to ask us what to drink, I was about to order beer but was not sure which size then asked the staff. She said it's normal size... then asked her it's pint or half pint? She said it's in Baht.... Hmmm which is wrong answer anyway finally she said our restaurant sells only normal size in small bottle.. I got answer but immediately fell that this staff is not so friendly and cannot provide some other professional information. Then we finished eating and wanted to move to sofa in front of the beach which has perfect view and staffs helped us very well. The finished my beer and would like to order more, my boyfriend walked to tell them to come to our table because I need more beer. The another female staff came with an opened heineken in her hand and about to pour into a glass. Then we were confused because we didn't tell them which beer I needed yet. She didn't say any sorry word and after finished pouring she just told us we can change! Finally...the bill was wrong and again no sorry word from them... Not so impressed by staffs but others male staffs are nice...
