I had a stay at Hyatt Regency Hua Hin a few years ago and knew this hotel was solid value so I returned this time on a shorter stay as part of a road trip. The hotels I can compare to in Hua Hin are Sheraton, Anantara, and a couple others not far away in Pranburi; I can confirm based on my latest stay that HR remains a good choice for the price paid.
I booked the entry level room and proactively received an upgrade to a suite as Globalist guest. The room was still in decent condition similar to a few years ago and I liked that our suite had direct pool access but without losing much on privacy due to the layout of the resort and the position of our room with an angle and some distance from the patio deck which had two chairs. As in the past we had free t-shirts to take home as gifts. Baby Minnie was quite happy to wear her “World of Hyatt” gear – a nice gift received from my Hyatt Concierge sent in the post – and really thought the big bed was fun to play in and relax as can be seen on the picture attached to the review.
Since the two Sheratons in the area cut their club lounge, there are not so many hotels in Hua Hin which still have a lounge but the one at Hyatt Regency remains. The offerings might have been a slight notch lower than what I remembered from the past but still decent considering the other options in town. Alcohol was not allowed to be served in the lounge due to provincial covid regulations but guests were able to get drinks sent to their room between 5-7pm nonetheless so kudos to the hotel for not taking shortcuts by simply removing a benefit of the club lounge access.
Breakfast was not offered in the lounge, it was restaurant only. The spread was quite nice; in terms of quality it was average in my opinion.
One major strength of the hotel is the large pool with several nooks including the remote corner where our suite was located, and the slide which children can enjoy. The main pool is quite close to the beach so there are some views unlike from the rooms, and the beach itself is one of the better ones in Hua Hin which is generally not a destination for top Thailand beaches; for the best beaches Phuket or Koh Samui are preferable to Hua Hin. The common areas of the hotel were well maintained and included other facilities to keep guests occupied for example a basketball and tennis courts.
Overall for Hyatt loyalists this hotel is a no brainer – it’s good quality for a reasonable price and elite benefits are generous. Even for guests with dual status with many hotel chains HR can hold its own relative to competitors and I can...
Read moreNot a good experience. So after staying at the Hilton 3 nights and really enjoying my experience there I decided I want to check out another area in Hua Hin. So I checked Hyatt on google and saw positive reviews. Right when I arrived the hotel lobby check in area was very hot and uncomfortable. The fans barely cool the hotel area. I sat there for 10 minutes checking in only to be told rooms not ready. I am a Discoveriest and I am here during Low Season. The hotel definitely is not max capacity. But okay fine I will go to the restaurant. Since it’s noon I will have lunch. So still generally in good spirits I order a burger and fries. 30 minutes goes by and there is no food yet. So I ask the staff and they say the food is coming so kindly wait. Okay so another 10 minutes goes by and they tell me the beef patties are still frozen and do I want to order another dish. At this point I said no please cancel I will go outside and eat. At this point I was just irritated. So the golf cart gave me a ride to the gate. Now at 12 pm in Hua Hin it is hot. But I made that choice to walk and that was when I realized the hotel location actually isn’t very good. So I kept walking and found a nice little Thai restaurant. Then I walked back a bit annoyed with the way the hotel check in process was being handled. But for me the last straw was as I was walking I would see golf carts just driving by and no one offered me a ride. Then finally a golf cart with another guest sees me and says “hey do you want a ride” to which I said “yes please”. In other words the guy driving the cart had no intention of stopping until the other guest said something. At this point I was so annoyed with the lack of “5 star quality” that I went to the front desk and said you know what let’s just cancel this reservation. They did offer me a free breakfast for the inconvenience but I declined due to the frustration. There was not much effort at making things right aside from offering the free breakfast which I had already paid for anyways at check in. My final review of this hotel is the landscaping is nice and property appears reasonably unkept. Maybe some of you will have a...

I rarely write reviews, but my stay at Hyatt Regency in Hua Hin was so exceptional that I couldn’t resist sharing my experience.
We arrived on my husband’s Birthday and the front desk staff noticed it. Once we got in our room, there was a complimentary birthday cake await. It’s such a nice gesture.
The resort’s location is idyllic, boasting a tranquil beach that provided the perfect backdrop for a peaceful getaway. Our room was a haven of comfort, with its quiet ambiance, smart design, and a remarkably comfortable king bed. The attention to detail in cleanliness and the quality of shower amenities exceeded our expectations, making it an ideal choice for my elderly parents.
The swimming pool and landscape were nothing short of excellent, offering a serene retreat. What truly set this experience apart was the outstanding service. The staff, notably Mr Tee in the swimming pool area, went above and beyond with their friendliness and assistance, even extending to yoga classes.
Opting for the breakfast and dinner package proved to be a delightful culinary journey. The breakfast selection was extensive, with a special mention for the honeycomb bar – a unique touch. The commitment to quality was evident, especially in the generous servings of real butter. Figs restaurant surpassed all expectations, offering impeccable Thai and Italian cuisine. Mr Anupan (Nu) made our dining experience memorable, and the set voucher was a wise choice.
The Barai spa was a highlight, providing a one-of-a-kind experience. The ambiance and meticulous details made the visit unforgettable. Our couple massage was expertly delivered by Nong and Hnoi , each massage tailored to perfection. Booking in advance is advisable for this exceptional spa experience.
Our overall stay was so outstanding that we’re already planning a return, aiming for at least a week to fully savor the remarkable hospitality, delightful dining, and rejuvenating spa treatments at Hyatt...
