If you want good Isaan food at reasonable prices then Ruan Saep is the place.
After about an almost 4 hour drive from Bangkok we were starving! We ordered larb moo (minced pork salad), moo dtet diao (pork jerky), somtum poo pla raa (papaya salad with brine crabs and fermented fish) and gai yang (roasted chicken).
Everything was great except the roasted chicken probably my expectations were raised after a famous food YouTuber with that rubber face gushed about it in his video. Not say it was bad but more like average.
Surprise dish of the day was the kanom jeen that was simply drizzled with garlic oil and bits of crispy garlic.
Service was prompt, if you sit in the huts they have a buzzer to alert the wait staff. Will come back to eat again when back in Hua Hin. 😊

Number 43 on the menu, sweet and sour deep fried whole fish, is wrongly described in English as “steamed.” It is, however, correctly labeled in both Thai and Chinese. The fish is golden brown and crispy, smothered with a mildly spicy sweet and sour sauce, deep fried shredded ginger, cashews, and crispy fried mint leaves—distinctively Thai. Add a papaya salad and rice, and you have a delicious meal for two, or perhaps even...
