It was yesterday dinner. The food is very delicious. The price is good compared to the quality, taste and appearance of the food. Everything is very good
except
The only thing that needs to be improved is the service of the restaurant and some waitress
The receptionist in front of the store welcomes customers well. We were told there would be a 15 minutes wait for a table.
Last night, there were quite a lot of people here. Most are foreigners. There was a table of Thai people sitting next to us inside the restaurant, total 6 people. My table was in the middle of the restaurant , 2 people, me and my son. We ordered a fair amount of food.
The first employee who took the order has good service but may have made a slight mistake in notifying the waiting time for the food.
Appetizers: Chicken curry puffs, grilled scallops with salad Soup : Mushroom soup, Pumpkin soup Main Dishes: Braised lamb shank, tuna basil rice Drinks: young coconut, water
While eating I don't know which waitress bumped into the chair I was sitting in several times. But there's no apology. I am not angry or anything but I asked myself Should they apologize? They should have a manner for this.
Soup. and Appetizers are served in order. It might be a little slow, but I can understand that there are a lot of people and we can wait.
Both main dishes came out very slow. We sat and waited until we were sleepy. Until We can't wait anymore. Because we have business to attend to. So we planned that if the food came out we may have to put it in togo boxes and take it home to eat.
When the food comes out We don't have time to eat. So I called the waitress to inform her that I would take it to go and explained the reason that it is because I have a business to attend and told her that we waited for main dishes for quite a long time.
The waitress replied that “Follow the queue” I asked again, "Excuse me?" The waitress still responded with the same answer. "Follow the queue." while her eyes guided us to look at the surrounding atmosphere. (there are a lot of people). So I asked back, "Do you think the food came out too slow?" The waitress still answered that “Follow the queue” My son and I looked at each other. We ran out of words to say to her.
I think the restaurant should train waitresses to have more knowledge, understanding, and care for customers. Because your restaurant can be classified as Fine Dining, not a normal restaurant beside the road. To answer the customer that "Follow the queue" without explaining is not ok. There should be some kind of apology and explained the reason.
Actually, I wasn't going to complain about anything because the reason was already understandable because there were a lot of customers for real. And it's correct that the food must come out by following the queue, But this wasn't a good answer that should be given to customers!! And most importantly, if the food is slow because of the cooking time of some dishes,.. customers should be informed in advance. For example, braised lamb shank may take a little longer. How many minutes does it take to cook it?, so that the customer can allocate correctly how much time they have? We can decide, which dish should we order? Moreover, the main dish that is finished first should be served out first. They should ask the customer if the customer wants it served first. Instead of holding the finished food long in order to bring out 2 dishes at the same time,.. without caring how long customers have to wait.
I still return to eat here though.., because I like the taste of food. The food looks good and delicious. and the good quality of the ingredients, I think Chef takes great care in every dish he makes. But the service in the restaurant needs to be organized. You must also pay attention to good customer service. So that can support your restaurant to be more standard and professional.
I hope that next time I will receive...
Read moreTable for 4 booked for 6pm. We were the first customers. Our 2 friends were a little late and we ordered at about 6:30. Starter arrived at about 7:00. Other guests that arrived later seemed to have been served before. No rush, but there are certain expectations. Main courses were only served at about 8:10, which is 1 hour and 40 minutes after our order. I wondered if our main courses had been overlooked as when I signalled to a waitress she wanted to bring me the bill. Many other customers were served first and when we questioned the slow service the waitress said the delay was because we ordered starters. Note to self: don’t order starters at S. Ken ever again! We asked to speak to Ken as a few other diners were also chasing their food. Ken was off today. Food was ok quality but luke warm at best. We were very disappointed and our friends were. not at all impressed, and will certainly not visit again, or recommend the place to others. We will also be hesitant to come again despite many visits during the previous year. Smile restaurant next door is probably a much better option where the owner and maitre D is charming and...
Read moreCozy, friendly restaurant with good food, good drinks, good wine and to top it off, a very friendly price! I have been paying by this place for four years before finally deciding to come in and to my surprise, it wasn't just ok, it was good. Wide selection of Italian and Thai dishes on the menu. Good selection of drinks. The dessert (or should I say dolce) menu is on the small side, with ready made ice-cream and some other combinations, I had a Bailey's affogato and an apple and strawberry crumble and they were great. The steak main course was a bit pricey, at 690 for 200g of steak you could get a proper dry aged steak at Arno's but the sauce was terrific and the meat was super tender. Overall I'm impressed and will definitely...
