"Flame" - Phuket - Old Town Review of single person experience.
Arrival: 10:00 AM upon opening First Beer Served: 10:07 AM Closing Time: 02:00 AM
Service: The service was commendable; staff quickly noticed when I needed a refill and were attentive, sometimes even sending two servers at once to assist.
Economics: Pricing is quite reasonable, with large beers priced at 160 baht and snacks like popcorn at 150 baht. However, it took an unusually long 20 minutes to prepare the popcorn. Once served, it was quite enjoyable.
Music: The musical experience was surprisingly good, featuring three different singers simultaneously. The repertoire mainly consisted of Thai music, with a pleasant surprise of English songs performed by the female vocalist, perhaps every fifth song. It was unfortunate that there were few patrons to applaud.
Experience: Musically, the set included some classic Thai songs, complemented by an odd background noise of audience participation. At times, the keyboardist seemed slightly offbeat, creating an unsettling sound, but that was rectified in subsequent performances. Audience engagement was exclusively in Thai.
One female singer, whose name I didn’t catch, excelled with her rendition of English songs. I particularly enjoyed her slow cover of "Tell Me Something" by Lady Gaga. I initiated the first applause, leading the singer to inquire about my origin, prompting me to shout “Denmark” as loudly as I could from my distant seat.
The staff even offered me a complimentary drink in exchange for a Google review, perhaps having noticed me taking notes. At one point, the singer addressed me specifically during the applause, calling me "bro," which was an unexpected moment. The servers were consistently checking on me, ensuring my glass was always filled to at least 80%.
All three performers were quite impressive.
Current Atmosphere: As of 10:46 AM, the crowd had begun to thin, with at least two tables leaving. The band was now performing "Thrift Shop," which I preferred less than the earlier Lady Gaga song. The bassist was particularly energetic, and the drummer displayed remarkable skill.
Conclusion: While this venue may not be ideal for a lively party atmosphere—especially with my solitary presence at 10:58 AM—the music alone makes it worth a visit. Given the low prices, there’s no harm in trying this place out.
This review concludes at 11:07 AM, as I remain alone here. I’ll finish my drink and consider heading home, but if the crowd picks up before I'm done, I might stay. Despite the lack of patrons, the ambiance is quite cozy.

Read moreI come and enjoy the kitchen and the cervis every time. Excellent waiters, I especially like it when the Rabbit girl serves me. She is quite competent, reacts very quickly and solves any questions. The music and atmosphere are top notch, for some reason people go to bangla, but it's pointless when there's a swanky club in this part of the island. They delight me with new parties every week, when I come every time for...
