Estrela Rooftop Bar & Restaurant — Restaurant in Ratsada

This place has the benefit of being one of the few proper rooftop bars in Phuket. It seems to be missing it’s full potential however.

Bartender knows what he’s doing as the drinks were nice but a bit of character to the outdoor terrace would go a long way. Didn’t feel very upmarket Novotel. Couple of plants, some sort of dividers, maybe outdoor sofas to vary up the furniture type.

The inside bar is nicely decorated once you get past the awkward lobby bit outside the elevators. There’s no announcement of the bar when you get out the lifts.

I went in previously for happy hour at around 17:00 and there were loads of staff but none of them seemed to know what they were supposed to be doing. No greeting you at the door, no menus given when we took a seat. Ended up leaving and coming back a second time.

Second time we were greeted by the bartender but service was slow, drinks came out at separate times, no coasters, no snacks and we were one of two tables.

Had the chance to dine at Estrela, the rooftop restaurant and bar on the top floor of Novotel Phuket City Phokeethra. The atmosphere was amazing — laid-back and stylish. It’s a great spot for a relaxed evening drink or a cozy dinner with a view.

The service here was excellent from every staff member, but a special shout-out to Jojo, who was absolutely wonderful. She was attentive to every detail, gave great recommendations for food and drinks, and checked in regularly to make sure everything was perfect. Super impressed!

The food was pretty good. I ordered the Tuna Salad with Ponzu Sauce, which was kind of like a tuna tartare served with salad and ponzu dressing. The sauce was a bit too salty for my taste, and since I’m not a fan of raw fish, Jojo even told the chef to prepare it medium for me — so thoughtful!

For dessert, I had the Entremet & Mango Mousse — soft chocolate mousse that wasn’t overly sweet, served with mango mousse, strawberry sauce, and crumble. The flavors blended perfectly. I actually packed it to go because I was afraid I couldn’t finish it all — but it was really delicious.

For drinks, I ordered a Cosmopolitan and the Thai Chai Yo — both were really good! I especially loved the Thai Chai Yo, which is a signature cocktail created by the bar. I can’t quite remember all the ingredients, but the main flavors were mango juice and Mae Khong rum. What surprised me was that it didn’t have that strong alcoholic scent you usually get from Mae Khong — it was super smooth and well-balanced.

All in all, it was a great experience. From the view to the food and the outstanding service, everything was spot on. If you’re ever in Phuket and looking for a chill rooftop spot with great service and a lovely vibe, I highly recommend this place!

ของหวานเราสั่งเป็น Entremet & Mango Mousse เป็นช็อกโกแลตมูสเนื้อนุ่ม ไม่หวานเกินไป เสิร์ฟคู่กับมูสมะม่วง ซอสสตรอว์เบอร์รี่ และครัมเบิ้ล กินแล้วเข้ากันดีมาก อร่อยแบบละมุน ๆ แต่กลัวจะทานไม่หมดเลยสั่ง กลับบ้าน ด้วย

เครื่องดื่มสั่งเป็น Cosmopolitan และ Thai Chai Yo อร่อยทั้ง 2 อย่าง โดยเฉพาะ Thai Chai Yo เป็น Cocktail ที่ทางร้านคิดขึ้นมาเอง จำไม่ได้ว่ามีอะไรบ้าง แต่หลักๆเป็นน้ำมะม่วงและเหล้าแม่โขง (Mae Khong Rum) แต่ไม่มีกลิ่นฉุนของเหล้าแม่โขงเลย

I’ve visited 4 times during my stay in Phuket! This spot is a hidden gem, located on the 17th floor of the Novotel. Each visit has been fairly empty as it’s not in the center of old town. But it has hands down the best rooftop view in this area seen from two large balconies on either side of the bar. Each side offers a different majestic view, adorned with string lights and comfy chairs. One for the burning sunset and the other looks over the sea. There is relaxing lounge music playing. This place is perfect for a romantic evening and SOLO DATE! I’ve never had an issue getting a drink within 5 minutes.

BOGO Happy hour is from 530-730! Although, one visit the waiter told me it didn’t start until 7. Shame.

Inside is a sophisticated lounge setting with plush leather furniture. I ordered from the snack menu, fried minced pork rolls-tu tang It was very yummy!
