The island's protector, the golden dragon, is located at the entrance to Queen Sirikit Park.

According to Chinese legend, Phuket is a golden sea dragon - it can be seen on the granite slab next to it. Many believing residents of the island, come here, bringing as a gift to the statue various ritual paraphernalia, incense, candles, asking for protection and good luck.

The statue was erected in 2006, in honor of the 60-year reign of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, and the park was built in 2004 - in honor of 72 years of Queen Sirikit.

It's an interesting place, worth coming here to take good and interesting photos. In the evening, the statue is illuminated and becomes more beautiful and majestic.

The golden dragon. It is a small park in the middle of Phuket town.

The dragon is the symbolic of Phuket because people say that Phuket island looks like dragon (if you see it in the right angle)

On weekend or special holiday, there is a food market on this street.

If you’re tourist, there is nothing here but if you’re lucky and come here in the right day, the market will have hundred of street food and shows.

It used to have yoga and aerobic dance but due to covid situation, the activities were stopped.

When I was young, I like to come here with my friends. We called the statue ‘the golden chicken’. I don’t know why. It has a playground on the building behide the statue but now no one maintenance so...
