The island's protector, the golden dragon, is located at the entrance to Queen Sirikit Park.
According to Chinese legend, Phuket is a golden sea dragon - it can be seen on the granite slab next to it. Many believing residents of the island, come here, bringing as a gift to the statue various ritual paraphernalia, incense, candles, asking for protection and good luck.
The statue was erected in 2006, in honor of the 60-year reign of King Bhumibol Adulyadej, and the park was built in 2004 - in honor of 72 years of Queen Sirikit.
It's an interesting place, worth coming here to take good and interesting photos. In the evening, the statue is illuminated and becomes more beautiful and majestic.
