Overlooking Rawai Beach there is a restaurant on a hill, an oasis where dreams can come true and states of being can be altered. This victual laden haven is known as Rustic and Blue (by the sea). We have frequented R&B (that’s what the cool kids call it) since we arrived in Rawai and it has quickly become a safe haven for us. Everything from the food, drinks, views, and service are all top notch at the sea view patio restaurant. Some of the most notable of which are the THC infused delicacies. Our favorites among them being the Cornflake Ice Cream and the POTcorn. Both of which we enjoy on an almost weekly basis. Aside from satisfying our degenerate needs for the chill life, R&B has some of the best food on the island. The Fish & Chips is some of the best i’ve ever had, if not the best. Fresh sea bass in a flaky, crispy, and very flavorful batter served with potatoes and necessary sauces. YUM. The Duck Prosciutto & Tomato Salad is a WHIRLWIND of flavor and texture. Honestly the kind of stuff that will haunt your dreams (in the best way). A number of pasta dishes which were all very high quality though lacking as much salt as I’d personally have liked. No biggie, just salt to taste. Coffee is on par with all of the best shops I’ve been to in Phuket which as a whole has a pretty impressive coffee scene.
All in all Rustic & Blue has my vote for President of Flavortown. VERY good. Highly...
Read moreSit back, relax and enjoy a spectacular view of the Rawai Beach at Rustic and Blue by the Sea. If you don’t mind the strong wind and a little summer heat, this would be the perfect spot to hangout.
So many drinks to choose from, so we picked some of their Signature. First, the Berry Banana Smoothie (195 THB) comes with their Homemade Granola and garnished with fresh green apple. Super refreshing and perfect to beat the heat.
Mojito Cold Brew Fog (160 THB) was good. Love their presentation, having some foam with fresh mint and brown sugar. However, it’s a little pricey for it’s quality and taste.
Spiced Pear & Apple (165 THB) with Dukkah, Mango, Apple Juice and Lime was quite fancy, it has a really strong and unique taste. If you like spice, go for it!
Brioche Loaf (155 THB) was super soft and fluffy, but I feel it’s more like plain bread. It’s lacking the rich buttery taste I expect from a brioche. Still worth it’s value because you can’t expect much at this price. This was served with butter blend and homemade strawberry jam, which was nice but really sweet.
Carrot Cake (185 THB) and Lemon Cheesecake were so beautiful and delicate! I can tell the Chef has a passion for decorating the cake.
From my observation, Rustic and Blue like their beverages and dessert SWEET. Everything seems to contain a little too much sugar for my liking.
Very nice ambience and beautiful...
Read moreI’ve been here a total of 4 times over the last 2 years of living in Phuket.
Pros: Mostly come here for the view and atmosphere. Staff are very nice. Baked goods are slightly better than main menu items.
Cons Menu is big and looks very good. But it’s a hit or miss. Mostly misses so far. Hamburger meat patties tasted questionable. Chicken burger has disproportionate proportion of salad / slaw to the chicken inside. Very small piece of chicken compared to the price, which is higher than chicken burgers from other places like Treasure Burger. Chicken and waffle also shrank in size compared to menu photo, very small chicken pieces and waffle was small and soft when it should be crusty on the outside but warm and fluffy on the inside, overall leaving diner dissatisfied. Harrisa chicken peas and egg was tasty but overpriced.
I’ve also noticed another table that ordered a lot of sandwiches but were mostly left half eaten. They sounded Aussies and I’m sure they get great sandwiches at home. So that was a telltale sign.
Overall we come for the atmosphere and really wish the food can look exactly like the menu photos, especially in terms of portion as prices here are higher than most cafes and...
