I got in touch with the hotel weeks before we arrive to ask if we could have the rooms on the ground floor and if they could be near the reception due to my mum having a walking stick and my husband having trouble walking too. Unfortunately, on arrival The entrance to the reception is up a steep stairway, from there there are further stairs to the main hotel. There is a lot of stairs and steps everywhere, We had a Delux pool view room, which was in the furthest building so was a good walk to reception. The room was ok and a nice size and we was on the 3rd floor yes there was an elevator to help us get up there but between getting to the room and to reception was a long walk with all the steps or you can walk up a slope which is still difficult at times for people that have walking difficulties no help with any vehicles to help with people who have walking difficulties.
Lacking was the cleanliness of the rooms as well as the towels and bed sheets which had stains on, the towels were changed daily but the bedding had not been changed at all for the whole two weeks we was there nor had the shower or sink been cleaned or the floor being washed. I had phoned housekeeping to ask if they could do it and they still did not! WiFi isn’t great! The breakfast was okay, but the coffee machine the coffees were disgusting. The waiting time considering it wasn’t that busy in the hotel at the pool bar was at least 20 minutes wait for a drink. The pool was cleaned daily and was a lovely pool. There was also plenty of sunbeds. Some of the staff was really nice. The day before we left, I checked three times with receptionist that I would be able to get help with a bellboy at 5 am for us to leave the hotel they assured me that they would unfortunately we had rung for 20 minutes and no one had answered the phone. I had to go and take six lots of luggage down to reception by myself and as you can imagine, I was not happy about that situation. The gentleman on the desk would not help me get the luggage up from the other steps and had told me that the phone lines were off! there was a dialling tone and it was ringing every time we tried! The taxi service outside the hotel they was absolutely amazing Could not fault them at all, all drivers were very helpful and very friendly.
location is great with many choices of restaurants bars and massages at a walking distance.
This hotel is ideal if you just wanna stop off point for a few days, but not for a holiday...
Read more8 night stay following a hectic 5 nights in Patong 😀. Our room was huge, 1st floor deluxe pool view - no complaints apart from the cleaner kept removing the key card from the air conditioning and we line it kept on 🥶. We found the location really good, 5 mins walk to a huge 7/11, a good mix of massage places, restaurants, bars and cafes a few minutes away. We found a fab spot literally across the road behind the Well cafe where there is a strip of restaurants where you sit at the side of the sea (some also had inside seating) - all places we tried were excellent and a good mix of expats, locals and people on holiday eating there.|The beach at Rawai isn’t for sunbathing but the hotel provides a free shuttle to 2 beaches - we visited both and enjoyed those days, the sea is like a bath, each had places to eat and shop but both very busy, we walked back from Na Yui beach as decided to stay longer as the snorkelling was so good (unfortunately the shuttle returns at 2pm with no later option) the walk back took 15 minutes - passed some fab local bars / restaurants on the way.|We hired a longboat from Jonnys boats to Coconut Island for the day (took 15 minutes to get there) which was fab (2,000 BHT).|Loved the hotel swimming pool, so relaxing and a huge area to swim and cool down.|We were B&B and found the breakfast good but a little repetitive and the fruit selection was basic compared to our last hotel but a good mix of everything inc cereals, yoghurts and egg station, we mainly ate from the Thai section.|Negatives were people saving sun-beds and nobody checking this / removing towels, we always managed to get one but not always in the sun which disappears from the pool area around 5.30pm - frustrating when sun-beds in the sun are reserved but not used for hours. Also not enough staff to clear glasses during the day. There wasn’t anywhere to sit and enjoy a drink outside in the evening as the pool bar closed early so the only option was the inside bar at the side which was also a restaurant - we didn’t use this though as it didn’t appeal. |On checkout at 5am the receptionist (only 1 on duty) insisted on getting our room and mini bar checked so the security deposit could be released - this meant we were held up by 25 minutes with our airport taxi waiting, we had paid the bill the previous evening to avoid this. |I would definitely stay here again though if we return to Rawai just to experience the...
Read moreThere were good and bad points regarding our stay here and I will now list them in no particular order. The negative aspects of our stay were that the hotel itself is not in a very good location. Yes it's only 5 minute walk to the beach but it's not a beach you can sunbathe on as it's not the cleanest and the tide goes out a long way at certain times leaving only mud. It's rather isolated too apart from the strip that's opposite the beach but there's nothing really on it. There's a limited amount of restaurants and bars for you to actually have a night out. When we arrived we first had a problem with the room they gave us as our booking was with a pool view. However, from the room you couldn't actually see the pool as when you're on the ground floor - albeit next to the pool - there's bushes and walls in the way. We were moved to the second floor looking down on the pool so all was good. The ground floor rooms should not be advertised as a pool view! My partner loves to have a bath of which there was a freestanding one. However, she tried it on the first night but not again after that as there was no head rest or gap so it was extremely uncomfortable. Whilst the front of the room overlooked the pool, the back (front door) overlooks a very busy and noisy main road...at all times of the night! Lots of the drawers and doors to cabinets and wardrobes were out of alignment and some could not even be closed properly because of this. There's tea and coffee making facilities but they give you powdered milk - in a 4* hotel?|Now for the positives. The grounds are easy on the eye with a lovely pool area, beautiful surroundings, nice statues a pleasant looking waterfall and rope bridge. The balcony overlooking the pool was spacious enough for 2 people, a clothes horse is out there for your wet washing along with a table and 2 chairs. The AC took a while to kick in cold but when it got going it was fine. The water was always nice and hot at any time of the day and the room contained a free safe. Our board here was bed and breakfast of which the different types of foods available was excellent for all pallets and...
