Kate Cafe — Restaurant in Rawai

Ventured here based upon some decent reviews and was quite disappointed.

Despite being only five or six tables service was very slow. I get that it was one lady running the place and cooking with a couple of lads helping somewhat. However, drinks took about 20 minutes and the food well over an hour. The whole visit took nearly two hours with every stage very pedestrian.

The food was very bland and average. The red curry had plenty of chicken but no veg at all. Having requested it spicy there was also zero spice to the food. It was very disappointing following the long wait. Prices were pretty average too with better value places nearby.

This is a great restaurant in Phuket. I had meals here several times during my stay in Phuket. The food is delicious and generous, while the price is much more reasonable compared to other restaurants in the area.

The owner is warm and friendly. I gave her a nickname as Tu au er. We can't talk much but I understand she truly cares about serving you well. I feel Tu Au Er and Kate restaurant can represent the beauty of true giving in Thai culture.
