La Cantina Steak House & Pizzeria — Restaurant in Rawai

Great waitresses, okay food, terrible Manager? We live right around the corner - we were asked if we wanted one more beer before closing, which we accepted. The manager then came over and tapped his watch and said "I have already waited for you for one hour". This is after we (like always) tip fairly generously, and were courteous. Other places in the area would simply ask us if they can close and we can finish our beers in darkness, which is totally fine... here not so much. My wife and I are very easy to please, but this was too much. For a place literally called "The Bar", I can't see how anyone could feel comfortable enjoying a beverage here after ~10:30pm. What a shame, everything had been okay until this point. If it had been a waitresses remark, it would have been dismissible, but these words coming from the manager is enough to spread the "bad" word around to not come here again. You're obviously not welcome as a customer, and a tipping one at that, at this establishment.

REPLY: Maybe it was not the manager then it was a male staff member. This happened last night 11/20 at 11:45pm, and this was in Thai to my wife word for word, this was not an issue with language. I understand not wanting to stay open past closing time, but this could have been handled many other ways more...

Two days ago my wife and I went looking for somewhere to celebrate our 12th Wedding Anniversary with two close friends. We had a place in mind, but was sorely disappointed, but we saw La Cantina Steak House just up the street and decided to check it out. We were blown away by how nice and friendly the staff were, and the high quality of the menu, especially considering the quite reasonable prices. We booked a table.

When we came back for dinner we were greeted with a gorgeous table setting, complete with flowers in a vase. Ordering our meals wasn't just easy, it was enjoyable, such is the friendliness and welcoming atmosphere there. After ordering we were greeted with a bowl of soup each complements of the house. I ordered a cup of hot honey and lemon, not on the menu, but delivered as though it was. Our meals were above what we expected. I ordered a lasagna, and my wife had a pizza, both of which exceeded our expectations. Finally, we were again treated to a dessert or drink each, on the house, to celebrate our anniversary.

We will definitely go back, not because of the free extras, which one should never expect, but simply because the service and food were truly excellent.

We were very pleasantly surprised by the whole place. The food was delicious and fresh - we had calamari and pizza. The cooks were working hard the whole evening, and everything looked very clean, it had high quality and high hygienic standards. As we were waiting for our order, steaks at the fire oven were prepared so professional, and the meat looked really fresh, it was packed, the cook was wearing gloves, cleaned the oven with the brush... Etc. The waitresses spoke surprisingly good English and were polite and friendly. The prices were very fair and there was a lot to choose from on the menu, I think there was no meal missing - pizza, pasta, burger, steak, fish, salad, Thai food and much more... I don't even know how they can really offer all of this 😱😃. Bigger choice I have never seen! The tables and chairs were comfortable, very clean, not sticky and the atmosphere was cozy and comfortable with the grill and the pizza oven. The restrooms were tidy and modern, there were very nice plants, mirror, granite... 😊. We always want to support local and places like this is not so easy to find outside hotels.
