Good fresh food. Not the cheapest nor the most expensive. Some soups I think were 50 baht but the solids start at about 100. Larger portions than the cheaper places though. The staff saw that I wasn't breaking even between meat and rice so they gave me extra rice too, which made it an enormous dinner for me.
I ordered Pad ka pow (basil chicken) and didn't specify spiciness, nor did they ask. I assumed that I'd get it as spicy as a Thai person, but I should have learned by now that you always get tourist level of spiciness when things are made a'la carte. So, if you are a tourist looking person and like your food spicy, then do specify this. My experience is that it might come out non spicy anyway, but then at least you tried. In Heng Heng there were plenty of spicy condiments on the table, so the problem was easily fixed.
Pad ka pow, rice and ice tea was 130 baht altogether. And worth every penny.
The Tom Kha Gai (coconut soup with chicken) was really good, the best I had in Thailand actually, and a huge portion. You could share it between two persons if you'd get two rice with it. With one rice and ice tea it...
Read moreI would never have expected a little spot near the airport to serve some of the most incredible food I’ve ever tasted, but this place absolutely blew me away. From the outside, it looks like a simple roadside eatery, but don’t let appearances fool you – the food here is on another level.
Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor, cooked to perfection, and served fresh and piping hot. You could tell the ingredients were high-quality, and the care that went into preparing the food was unmistakable. This wasn’t just a quick meal before a flight – it was a full-on culinary experience.
The portions were generous, the prices were incredibly reasonable, and the service was warm and welcoming. The atmosphere was no-frills, but honestly, when the food is this good, nothing else matters.
If you’re anywhere near the airport, do yourself a favor and stop by this spot. It’s the kind of place you’ll be telling your friends about long after your trip. I still can’t get over how insanely good everything was – 10/10, I’ll...
Read moreThis place was packed when I walked in, a line waiting to be seated, every table full, they accommodated me by pulling a table apart. More people showed up as I sat and waited for my order. This is definitely a super popular and well know spot, locals seem to love it. This restaurant is also next to the Michelin suggested one I visited yesterday (which was empty when I walked past).
Service is super friendly, host/server was nice and though things are hectic she was able to communicate with the kitchen and manage tables. Resturant is big and clean, open air and fans help the air circulate making it not as hot/humid.
I ordered the Thai basil minced chicken rice with a fried egg because it looked SO good. She asked if I wanted spicy and how can you say no when in Thailand? Food took a bit but it was so busy. Unfortunately the dish was a little bland, even with the presence of chilis it wasn’t very spicy. Some of the rice had a funny taste. Egg was...
