I’ve been blessed to visit multiple markets while in Thailand. This is not the best or worse. It’s a good one. Anyone transitioning at the airport or staying in Phuket should visit. Check out my photos and like any that are helpful to you. Thanks! Do check the hours/days as it is only open 4 days a week. This market has mostly foods and a little clothing. There were 1-2 souvenir stalls. The locals are very kind and helpful. They don’t speak a lot of English but can communicate as needed. You’ll meet a lot of hard working people. If you try you can easily meet some beautiful and interesting people. Do make sure the food is hot before eating it. It’s fresh and delicious! I enjoyed some fresh and cold sugar cane juice, some fried bananas, pork bacon, sticky rice, sticky corn, and even tried a local cigarette. It seemed to be wrapped in corn husk. Very interesting. I’d not seen that before. The tobacco was strong. There is NO currency exchange or ATMs onsite so take care of that before you go. If needed there are some just down the road in either direction....

The dirty part that people talk about in the comments is the part at the end of the market...where they sell fresh meat and fish because it is full of 🪰 but I don't think that a tourist need to buy there. The first part with food is nice...we had chicken and pork skewers at 10thb each, mango juice at 40thb, potato rolls at 20thb and the most yummy things were the sweets! On Tuesday we found a lady with a small small small table selling different sweets...she also had pannacotta and tiramisu. The pannacotta was perfect... absolutely wonderful and the tiramisu was really nice (ai miei compaesani italiani...no, non c'era il mascarpone, ma ha usato della panna al caffè davvero buona)....for just 50tbh each. Thursday we will go again hoping to find her!!! If you go visit the market search for the lady...she really deserves to have many...
Read moreIt’s a great little market. For anyone going, here is some advice to keep this and Phuket in general a great holiday destination: pay what items cost.
We queued for a small coconut dish and the people in front of us gave the lady 100THB and told her to keep it. The dish cost 20THB! When my husband (who is THAI) gave her 100THB she was asking if we want change.
Western people who think it’s so cheap and think they are charitable by paying more than four times the price completely mess it up for locals and Thai tourists, so please,...
