The Sixteenth Naiyang Beach Hotel — Hotel in Sakhu

A really excellent hotel, a mere 5 minutes away from the airport either on foot or in the free hotel shuttle bus. When I arrived at the airport, the taxi people wanted 400 Baht for the transfer so I went to the Information Desk and asked them to ring the hotel who then sent their shuttle bus to pick me up for free as my deal included the transfers anyway. The shuttle bus arrived within minutes of the call being made.|There is a rooftop terrace which gives great views of part of the apron at the airport. There are lots of places to sit up there either in the sun or shade, a small pool and is open 0800-2100.|The buffet breakfast is truly amazing, a combination of Thai and Western in a very relaxed breakfast room which was pretty quiet throughout my stay. Breakfast was included in my deal, but at a cost of 200 Baht per day, really is great value.|There is a 7/11 just down the road to the left as if you are walking to the national park and beach. There is a much bigger one on the main road only a few minutes-walk away, turn right outside the hotel, walk to the traffic lights and turn right again so no need to cross the road. Supercheap is a good shop too, across the main road.|Lots of excellent places to eat nearby which might involve crossing the main road at the traffic lights. The Naiyang café, virtually next door, is good too, especially if the monsoon-like rains prevent much of a walk.|The only negatives here, which are very minor indeed, are there is no wifi on the roof and it tends to drop out in the room, there also didn’t appear to be a safe in the room. There were, however, a very good fridge and air con.|The room was cleaned daily to a high standard. The staff here were generally very helpful and friendly and really seemed to care about what they did. I would definitely stay...

If you are assigned room 205, you can just ask for change a room directly, the air conditioner in room 205 is not working normally, the compressor of air con will working at beggining and stop running after 5-10 minutes, and it will cause this room hot as a hell. I feedback this issue to the reception, and they send a staff try to fix air con issue, but it cannot be fixed, staff told me to keep air con temp setting as 27C, I did, but the compressor still stop running few minutes after. I try to feedback this issue to reception several times, and ask for change a room, you cannot image how hard to stay in a room without air con at Phuket. the reception insist air con is working normally, and just ignore my complain with bad attitude. this is my 2nd time to stay in this hotel, the 1st time I stay in room 405, the air con is working just fine, so I do know how the normal air con working.

PLS pay attention to the hotel phone number, hotel offer airport pick-up service, you can call hotel for pick-up when you arrived airport, but the phone number on their OFFICIAL WEBSITE is WRONG NUMBER, never answer, I asked the reception about the wrong number when I walk to hotel by myself, the reception staff just said, "oh, you cannot call the number from website, you should call the number from google map, we only use google map", I try to tell him they should correct the number on official website, the staff just shows it not his biz, you deserve it, bcs you are not calling from google map.

BTW, the lady staff who working at reception with very good attitude when I stay there at 1st time, the 2 men reception staff is way bad from ladies. anyway, stay away from room 205 and men...

Room 711 is the room to get if you want to be able to see some of the planes at the airport from your room. It is directly under the roof terrace so gives the same view, just slightly lower. A door opens onto a very small balcony which is good for photos.||From the room and the terrace, you can see anything parked on the left side of the International Terminal and on the remote stands opposite. Both are also good for landings from over the sea. At quiet times, some of the more interesting planes would, rather frustratingly, park on the right of the terminal or on the wrong side of a wide body, therefore, out of sight.||The pool and terrace are on the 7th floor which is open 0800 to 2100 although it goes dark at around 1830. Spotting after dark is possible but the apron isn't very well lit at all so reading anything off is difficult and you need something to tie them up.||The sun is behind you in the morning so is the best time for photos and the heat of the day hasn't yet built up. During my stay, they were landing over the sea until about 3pm and then changed to coming in from over the island.||The excellent breakfast costs 200 Baht per day unless included in your package.||It takes about 5/ 10 minutes to walk to the hotel from the terminal, and about the same in their shuttle bus which is excellent.||There is a 7/11 down the road to the left or a bigger one round the corner on the right with an even bigger one being built across the busy road from that.||The Naiyang cafe almost next door serves excellent food although closes early in the evenings and isnt open on Mondays.||The few negatives were no safe in the room and a poor selection of 20...
