An Honest Review of Luigi Restaurant as I approached the door, the administrator stumbled out, coughing heavily, before opening the door for me. (This is a human factor, but seeing such a scene right before entering is something I wouldn’t wish upon anyone) we waited for our food for about 40 minutes. the order included appetizers, salads, and a main course. the salad was served first, and only after that came our pre-prepared aperitif as the third item. this sequence felt somewhat illogical, though perhaps I’m being overly critical. the music was extremely loud. when we asked for it to be turned down, the staff responded immediately, but even then, I’d say the music was still competing with me in unison during our conversation. the food was tasty. i can’t say you’ll discover any gastronomic masterpieces here, but the quality of the dishes is decent. the prices, in my opinion, are a bit inflated, but that’s not for me to judge. the staff’s performance was outstanding! the waiters were responsive and friendly, reacting to my every request with lightning speed. honestly, the people working in this restaurant are the best part of the experience.
in conclusion, I’d say this place offers edible food, and at times, it can even be quite good! would I come back again? no, the menu didn’t seem particularly appealing to me. additionally, I personally believe the price doesn’t quite match the quality. however, if you’re deciding where to have dinner, why not give Luigi a try? overall, I enjoyed my dinner and hope...
Read moreThe food was mostly great, however, I would say it's a bit overpriced for the portion sizes. The service was friendly and the atmosphere is ok, but it was very cold inside. The aircon at our first table was blasting freezing cold air, but luckily they moved us to another table that was a bit better.
Also, there was a big table with several small kids that were being quite noisy, including letting the kids play loud videos or games on their iPads. For a place like this, which is selling an expensive romantic and upscale dining experience, the staff really should have told them to be quiet, but they didn't do anything about it.
The standout dish was the risotto with prawn tartare, which was delicious. The cooked scallops dish was our least favorite dish as it was lacking flavor and with a price of around 1,000 baht for three very small scallops that looked nothing like the photo in the menu it was very overpriced. The various small plates were also nice, but again just overpriced for what you get, as they are priced at around 500-1,000 baht for basically one...
Read moreA new Italian casual dining spot and wine bar with a Japanese twist in Ari. We visited for a group Christmas dinner, and while the ambiance was very festive, it did not offset the average food.
We ordered multiple dishes, but only two were worth mentioning — the spicy sausage pasta and beef ragu pasta. Both pastas were al dente, and the sauce was rich in flavors. The steak was also well-cooked and tender. However, other dishes weren't our favorites. The raw appetizer, like the salmon, had a fishy smell, and the sauce was too strong. The tuna tartare was okay. The mixed cold cuts were almost inedible, with hard cuts and cheese that tasted off. The uni and prawn pasta had the most confusing flavor.
While the food presentation was good, they were doing so much, yet achieved so little with every dish. I believe improvements in the quality of ingredients would elevate the dishes. They were either too heavy on the sauce or lacked sufficient flavors. With a cost of almost 2000 THB per person, both taste and quality did not justify the...
