The service during my visit there was absolutely terrible. The staff stood around in a cluster watching our table whilst and we were eating and were not professional when serving or replying customers. They seemed reluctant to serve us and acted as if it was not in their job scope to do so, especially one waitress in particular who stared at us the entire time. I recall looking over at her a few times, but she would either look away for a few seconds and continue to stare afterward or simply stare back at me.

Jaelek is a nice, clean place with good food. Has the potential to be an excellent restaurant if not for the rudeness of the wait staff. That in itself is enough to be a deterrent to a potential next visit.

A language barrier or even "untrained" staff is understandable, but politeness is essential for workers in the service line and basic for everyone. I sincerely hope that the management will deal with this issue so that other customers in future will thoroughly enjoy their experience...

This restaurant is super bad. This is the first time I tried this restaurant as I see rating and review. We have waited patiently for around 30 to 40 min for our dinner to be serve as we know is a lot of people. I can say we are very polite, even when we request for plate or soy sauce. But there is one lady waitress very bad attitude. She ignored our request for just 2 plates which is so easy to take for us as just few steps away, that's fine. Then when she served the food, she put it so hard like we have owe her money, I don't understand as we to spend money and wait so patiently and get this kind of service. That's alright too. When requested for just white rice, she showed her face which is very bad, and when she put rice on our plate, the rice is spill out then we said is OK we will do it ourselves. Then our final dish is served, she spin the round thing and my nephew glass of water is spill because she very rude. Overall, I don't suggest this restaurant if you don't want to...

rich flavourful thai dishes, esp d red curry crab meat. d gravy is sooo amazing n every grain of my rice were coated in it!

the thai sausage entre was interesting w condiments like ginger & garlic slices, chilli padi & peanuts to accompany it. d various ingredients provide a intriguing taste when eaten together. delicious!

the pork knuckle is oso satisfying. although the skin is not crunchy, its texture is easy to bite into n d meat is tender n well marinated. both d sauces - chilli lime & soya based - ea goes v well w d pork knuckle.

d tomyum goong is superb, w a correct blend of sourness n spices, without d spicy hotness. however, i found d soup a tad on d sweet side after a while. the prawns were fresh sweet & crunchy - yums!

d restaurant owner must be a despicables fan, w a huge collection of...

An amazing Thai restaurant. Ordered fried soft shell crab with garlic, stir fried wild fern (Thailand Veg), Tom Yam seafood and Ho Mok in coconut, accompanied by steam rice. The Tom Yam stole the whole show. Reminded me of a one and only best Tom Yam soup I ever tasted in New Zealand (restaurant run by a Thai, and cook by Thai). I will place this restaurant's Tom Yam on par with that. Softshell crab is very crunchy yet deliciously blended well with the garlics and chilli sauce. Stir fried veg is just ok, a little blend for me. This is the first time I tried Ho Mok. I was expecting red curry taste, but turns out to be more towards green curry flavour. A bit surprised, not disappointed as it tasted great too. Overall, food is great, price is reasonable. I'll give this a must try.

This award winning Jae Lek Thai Restaurant has been serving the community of Hatyai since 1967, and they serve up some very delicious Thai food. We ordered Gengsom Seabass, Phak Liang Pad Khai, Padkrapao Shrimp, and Thai Omelet, and every dish is superb. The Gengsom really packs a punch, sour, spicy, and the seabass is so fresh, while the phak liang pad khai is also very fresh. You only taste sweet in the vegetables. The padkrapao gung is also very delicious, fragrant from the basil leaf, and the prawn is very fresh and juicy. The omelet is on point, I guess you can't go wrong with an omelet. For dessert, my friend ordered their red ruby and he likes it. Parking sometimes can be a challenge here.
