Le Fournil french bakery — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

Not a very friendly place. Let me specify. The owner is not very friendly. we just wanted a baguette to take away, ( normaly just eaten Thai for breakfest),we didn't see any lying around or standing in a badket, so asked for one. The employee walked to the back, and when she came back the owner was with her who was very unfriendly and very worked up, wide open eyes and pupils... !! Then shout something very aggressive, not understandable to the employee and then turning to my wife with a raised voice " NO NOT FOR YOU, only as an order for customers", pointing to the seats outside the place irritated and repetitively pointing with 1 finger at then. This is a real gem on Koh Samui- a proper French bakery run by a French guy, Sylvain, who makes everything on site each morning. The baguettes, croissants and pastries are all amazing - but dangerously addictive. The service is lovely too: warm and friendly. I think this is where loads of the hotels buy their breakfast stuff. Well worth a visit.

FYI, it’s closed Mondays so bread often runs out early on Sundays as people stock up...
