Banana Leaf — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

The restaurant is on the Renaissance koh samui hotel grounds which belongs to Marriott group. We visited the restaurant before noon to have some breakfast. I wore a dress with open shoulders and had a bikini underneath. Surprisingly, a staff member deemed my attire inappropriate. 🤯 Despite the warm holiday weather exceeding 30 degrees, I received feedback as if a winter coat was expected. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this place due to the discourteous staff. It's advisable to AVOID it altogether. I ordered from this restaurant today and they took 2 hours and 30min to prepare the food (without driving time). I called after 1hr to ask where my food is and the staff refused to talk to me and let the driver and me sit on the phone for 15 min only to tell us the food is not finished yet. I asked to cancel but they refused. They were also unfriendly. I asked for a discount or extra food as compensation which they refused too. I wanted to speak to someone from the restaurant but they walked off on the driver with a rude tone in the background. This is part of the renaissance hotel. During our 12-day stay at the hotel, we had lots of dinners at this restaurant. It never disappointed us. From Thai food to pasta and burger, everything was super delicious and elegantly cooked. And it is amazing that the price (for a five star hotel) is so reasonable — at par or even less expensive than the several dinners we had at outside restaurants on the street.
