tawaNN — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

This was a horrible experience. We went for dinner at this place and ordered a papaya salad and steamed fish with vegetables. The papaya salad was uncooked and very hard to eat or chew and we sent it back. They took it back without a word. The fish came in 2 pieces surrounded by undercooked vegetables and cooked rice all of which were dry. The sauce provided was a strong chilli and garlic sauce totally unsuitable to go with the delicate fish. I ordered a glass of pinot Grigio wine to help eat the dry food. This did not arrive for quite some time and I had to eat the food dry as I was hungry and the food was going cold. Eventually a glass arrived and was delivered to the wrong table to eventually arrive at our table only to be told that there was mistake and the wine was Chardonnay and not Pinot and would I accept this? By this time, wine was not needed as food was eaten. The bill arrived and I objected to being charged for the papaya and the service charge as there was no service. The papaya was removed but I was told that they would not remove the service charge. I asked for the manager who arrived after quite some time (Mr Tanapat). He was very aggressive with us and said that service charge was hotel charge and a tip was the service charge. I disagreed and he became even more aggressive and threatened us with the police. UNBELIEVABLE. It was only when I mentioned that I was a Marriott member that he suddenly changed his attitude and credited the service charge and we breathed a sigh of relief at getting out...

I stayed at the Renaissance hotel for 9 nights and also went to tawaNN restaurant one evening. This is a nice restaurant from where you can overlook the Lamai bay. The food is decorated very nicely and arranged perfectly. Most dishes had a good taste. Only the taste of one dish was only mediocre (Some very big shrimps with Cashew nuts). Overall a very good experience. Some dishes have a reasonable price (300 to 500 Baht) and others are a bit more expensive (500 to 1000 Baht). Overall certainly more expensive than at a local restaurant, but the experience is worth it. And for a restaurant in a 5 star resort the price is ok. The service was perfect and the...

We had an amazing dinner at TawaNN at the Renaissance Hotel and Spa. The view alone is worth the visit—absolutely breathtaking and the perfect setting for a relaxing evening.

The staff were incredible—friendly, professional, and made us feel so welcome throughout the meal. And the food… wow. Every dish was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious.
