Tip’s Tacos — Restaurant in Surat Thani Province

We came here for a break from a month long stint of Thai food. We were excited to have a taco and the infamous super cheese burger. The photos online, in the menu, and on the wall show the super burger with two patties and two slices of real cheddar (something we haven't had in a long time and were excited to have). The super burger delivered had one patty and zero cheese. We thought they had made a mistake during ordering and gave us the regular burger. Nope, we were charged for a super burger and an extra 20 baht for sour cream with the tacos. So we felt pretty ripped off, especially after paying already too high prices for the area. A very small pour of wine is 140B. I can get a large glass of better wine for 120B at my expensive hotel. We thought we'd be eating here most nights during our stay but at these prices it unexpectedly cost less to dine...

Years spent backpacking Central and South America, teaching in Peru, and having grown up near the Mexican border during my short time in the United States; I can say,.empirically that these authentic tacos and genuine crema bring back that unique feeling that I got picking up tacos South of the border in the Americas.

Seriously moving back to Bangkok one of the few things about the island that I will miss is this lovely woman and her wonderful cooks and the amazing memories I have eating here.

After spending 6 days in ghost town Chaweng (Central Festival mall an exception), I was glad to be able to take a break from ordering from food delivery platforms.

Tip's Tacos had pretty decent and fairly priced Mexican offerings (Thai menu not available for now) and Tip herself was a wonderful host.

Heard from Tip that she just reopened 8 days ago after a 5-month break. Things have been rough but hope they get better for the people in Samui.

Swing by on a Tuesday to get three tacos + beer for 200 baht and on a Friday to get a chicken/pork fajitas + beer also...
